Is freeman going as we have someone better lined up ?
Someone to get beyond players with pace and skill on either flank

Osayi-Samuel??

Before everyone over-reacts to this, try keep in mind that we are probably not on an unstoppable quest to start the season with as few players as possible 👍

I agree wilder will have a plan but why loan him now though - it’s odd as other clubs seem prepared to drag stuff out until they have their targets over the line. Don’t see why we are unnecessarily leaving ourselves open at this risks of the market - especially when we have seen key targets vanish from our grasp over the last few weeks

If as expected swift buggers off to villa, Freeman might start looking like an attractive option for the squad.

I thought Freeman would do more, has he improved us? Probably not. Does this free up extra wages for someone that might? I’m hoping so..!

Incoming signing completed and announced tomorrow then 🤞

Never thought I'd miss a pukka ITK as much as I do now. Borderline meltdown going on in here.

We don’t play with a 10, and he’s third choice for LCM now with Osborn impressing there so makes sense to move him on.
It’s a shame we haven’t sold him, but no one knows the terms of the deal or the loan fee we’ll be receiving.

Wilder indicated he expects things to happen next week would not surprise me if we have deals already lined up
Something has to drop first and in this case it is a player going out
Our management team have not let us down so far so why doubt them now

I trust Wilder, but this does leave us mighty short. Reading into his earlier quote about the number 10 role, you’d have to think that at least one central midfielder is imminent.

As others have said, Wilder knows what he’s doing. It’s just frustrating not knowing.

I would have liked to have seen us play more of a 5-3-1-1 - but I guess this doesn’t help our pressing game at the top of the pitch as much with the number 10 obviously sitting deeper.

I’m not overly fussed. We don’t really have a position for him and he gives the ball away far too much which we really can’t afford to do. Good player on his day I’m sure but much more suited for a team playing with a ‘Duffy’ type role.

It isn’t like we’ll be letting him go out without having things lined up so not at all worried.

What a fucking waste of a signing. He hasn’t played a single minute in his preferred position for us. We don’t have a single player who can play in the number 10 role now, which is a shame. And don’t say Didsy can play as a 10. Didsy can drop deep and link but he doesn’t create.

If he was not going to play why not sell him unless its part of the deal for cash to move here

No point keeping him as he won't play. He'll have one year left on his contract next year so loaning him out makes little sense to me as he'll just be worth toffees.

It’ll be so satisfying watching our team out perform all these wannabees who had chance to be part of it .... might be an old way of thinking but build a team , and don’t overspend , we’ve done that before and it didn’t work UTB

Don't get all the toys being throw out of the pram. He barely played, does not fit our system (Wilder admitted he changed it and it was a success so played without a 10) and lacks pace/athleticism to be a regular at this level.

I always liked him but he's a Championship player at best I feel. It did not work out. Wilder feels the same and he sees him every day in training. I personally would move him and Robinson on who I see as the same category. I would hope we have a deal in place for it to become permanent as the reports suggest and we can get most of our money back.

We are being out priced for Cash where villa will pay double what we can in wages. Sadly we are not at the level wages wise of most including some of the promoted teams too ....that is something we will only address by the Prince finding more investment combined with us staying at this level for a few more years

Wilder clearly has someone lined up to come into replace him or he won't have let him out. Think a few saw something I did not in Freeman. Apart from a decent 45 mins v Palace not sure in the Prem he ever really stood out albeit in very limited action. He gave it away a lot and lacked pace/physique to get away from players at this level. Neat and tidy player but not a player that was going to ever be close to a regular.

No point keeping him as he won't play. He'll have one year left on his contract next year so loaning him out makes little sense to me as he'll just be worth toffees.
Unless he helps Forest to promotion and they buy him for an already agreed fee.
But by that time we'll have just completed our second successful season in the top flight, and we'll have moved on with better quality signings.
