I've got mixed feelings about this. He's a solid signing, but I'm not 100% convinced he has the quality we're looking for to keep us up. Plus he always looks like he's about to start crying.

If the fee is around £5 million as reported though, we've absolutely stolen him!

Whether he'll cut it in the Prem is an open question. On the other hand, how did it work out for Fulham spending mega bucks and dropping the stand out performers from the Championship that they had? For me, this is exactly the right kind of signing. Potential to be great, and if the worst happens next season then we'll be left with a player that either turns a big profit on sale or would be a great player in any Championship team.

The problem is buying a tried and tested PL player with no risk starts at 15 to 20 million.
We have no choice but to buy the best players from the Championship, it’s a risk but they are cheaper and will be hungry to succeed.
Another advantage is that we will be well suited for an immediate return if we get relegated back to the Championship.

I think our problem areas that need addressing are more down to age then ability.
Duffy is massive in our system and getting on a bit, we need someone for the future. Freeman’s style fits that rule exactly.
Sharp and McGoldrick are older too, so we need 2 younger strikers, ei Maupay and Mc`burnir.
The other issue is that our team lack pace, so Robinson would fit that requirement.

Is it just me that can’t get excited over Freeman? Is he really Premier league quality?
McBurnie is young and with ample room to improve but I just can’t see that in LF. Hopefully if we do sign him I’m proven wrong. Trust in Wilder.
I don’t get your point. Freeman is a creative midfielder and his assist stats are outstanding. McBurnie is a striker who will surely benefit from having him in the team.

True, unless we pay them £80,000 a week wages with no relegation clauses, then they might be tempted.
These wages and prices are madness really, no wonder Wilder is only targeting current Championship players.

And if we have to pay them that much to join us, we probably don’t want them.

It’s a mistake loads of clubs make, like Stoke with Bojan etc. Pay them more than they’re worth to tempt them to come and get stuck with them when they can’t really be arsed to dig in. My mate did some plastering for Wim Jonk who freely admitted he only came to Sheffield for the money. That was years ago and still clubs don’t learn.

Always liked him. Plays very much like Duffy. Hes the perfect replacement.

He looks like Luke Davenport from Dream Team - the one that went blind.

Delayed,my guess due to cows on the track between St Pancras and Sheffield.

Any opposition player (yes i'm watching you Burton) crock him in pre season friendlies "i will find you and i will kill you" 💋

I think he looks like a musketeer. Can imagine him in a cavalier hat coming at you with a rapier.
