Sir Alf of course and he had two seasons managing Ipswich in the top flight. He did manage a title win in the first of those seasons though....
His replacement at Ipswich, Jackie Milburn, messed things up and they got relegated. Here is one of my favourite stories... Jackie Milburn was talking to Ipswich chairman, John Cobbold, in a train journey. Jackie asked John "We need to buy more players". John looked out of the window and shouted "I haven't seen bigger bollocks than that bull!"

For me, the only jobs he would take in England are as follows:

Man U
Man C
Chelsea
Spurs
Arsenal
Liverpool
Everton
England

Until any of those come knocking, we're ok.
I think Southampton would figure somewhere in that list

I hope the pig fans don't read in on this we'd have given them it in spades for such threads.

Can't we just take one game at a time like err Wilder does?

I never listen to Talk Sport. I've got it programmed as a preset in my car but had forgot it was there. (Put it there when I drove to Northampton last season as the people that were in the car with me wouldn't have liked my usual radio station choice).

On the way home tonight, for some reason I decided to press preset 6 to see what it was, and it's Talk Sport, and I flicked onto the channel literally a split second before they said his name. What was the feature about because I heard them rave about him, but didn't hear the bit before it. What were they talking about?
Can't remember the marra's name but it was "one of my highlights so far this season" kinda thing. Might have been him off footie on 5 ex player

Chris Wilder will never leave SUFC, he is our Fergie.

I fell out with England when they side stepped Brian Clough
showed they werent interested in winning

whats worse they gave Don I love Saudi money more Revie the job
says everything about the FA
more concerned people know which fork to use on th 3rd course at dinners

The FA side stepped Clough after Revie left the England job not before Revie was appointed

Haven't read the whole thread so hope I'm not repeating, but I think anyone sensible would realise Wilder 's ambition is to lead us to the promised land. Wherever that may be, minimum Premiership status, not Premiership scrabblers. Achieving a Cloughlike European campaign is well within his sights and mind. Nothing, but nothing would get in his way of these ambitious plans. I just hope he gets the backing upstairs.

He won't - our board have no previous history of backing managers.
