Probably the most painful 45 minutes I've known watching United. Five nil down at half time and genuinely thinking we were going to let in at least ten. On a positive, we only lost by six in the end!

I think Arteta took Saka off at half time probably worried that Trusty or any of the back four could have caused a major injury. Arsenal could have gone on into double figures that night.

Trusty would have needed a sniper rifle to hurt Saka that night. I’ve never seen a defender so far from his man. Swear he ran away whenever Saka got the ball.

Yes I think you are correct. Our fans were class that night. I think it was the season after we were relegated from the prem. Then we played them again at the lane not long after in the league cup and got hammered again 0-3 I think.

The hope had already been beaten out of me, so I actually tried to enjoy this game as I quite like Arsenal. I attempted to just enjoy watching what I thought was going to be the champions. Certainly a champion’s performance. Some of their forward players were astonishingly good. Some of the best football I’ve ever seen at BDTBL

If it’s the game I’m thinking of, his reasoning was that formation had kept us pretty close to Liverpool (at just 1-0 down until the last few minutes) and it could work against Arsenal. It took literally 2 and a half minutes to see it wasn’t going to work, and we needed to do something very different to keep the score down!

Absolutely. It never crossed Wilder's mind that Arteta and his entourage of staff may well have just watched the Liverpool game and identified where the weaknesses were in our back 4.

Naivety is a polite way of describing events that night.

It was my birthday, and I left at half time, the only game I didn’t stay til the end last season. But I had a 0-6 safety bet, would’ve won £75, except I cashed out on the way out for £15 assuming it would be at least 9 by the end. So my misery was fully compounded with that knowledge.
Serves me right I suppose!
