We could always still be in League One, playing at Oldham, on the ploughed field they call a pitch!

Worst thing is that everything Wednesday have been saying all season was actually true.

We got found out after Christmas and they were only shite because their best players were injured.

Don't let years in league one lower your expectations for United.

I really hope there aren't many Blades thinking this way.

We shouldn't under any circumstances just be content with not being in league one.

The ultimate expectation for me is premiership football

Agreed, but realistically that has to be the long term objective. Before we kicked a ball surely the main aim was to avoid the relegation dog fight, which we've done. With the exception of the dire run around Christmas the form has at least been that of a mid-table club. Consolidate, grow and move on. We now know more about what we require in this division, whether the backing comes to achieve that is another issue. But ultimately we have got to be happy with the season as a whole, just the timing of our excellent run perhaps skewed the expectations.

Look on the brighter side, you could be a PIGGY!! :D

Over the course of the season, we have proved, in my eyes at least to be a competitive Championship side, capable of beating anyone.

We have lacked a degree of consistency.

We haven’t put teams to bed when we should have, which has often cost us.

Today’s disappointing performance and result aside, there are still only 2 teams in the division whom I could confidently state are at a different level.

The seasons fizzled out I’m afraid. Today in particular, we were collectively lead footed. I wonder how much of this has to do with the full tilt training regime, which perhaps needs reviewing. Although recent performances have been good to OK !

A good first season back, but one that could have been sooooo much better.

Retain Fleck and Coutts (tall order) and build the side around them.

£10m worth of offensive talent required to take us forward. Our 3 main strikers cost £700k. TOTAL.

If this means selling Brookes, then do it. Bigger picture. He ain’t all that in any event.

It’s been showing for a while that we lack leadership. Daft defensive errors have crept in. Only JOC is genuinely good enough.

I do think this summer could be a real Watershed for the club. Boardroom troubles could sway things the wrong way. Wilder should be backed, but he also needs to prune a few first.
