I never posted on Viewpoints. You had to pay to register and I sent off a cheque which was never cashed. Musical (Andy) now lives in New Zealand.

Sorry Walthamstow, so many names to remember and was sure yours was one of them, it was a few years ago now. I do remember paying a subscription of £5 I think but it started off being free.
I do now recall someone mentioning that Musical had moved to New Zealand, wasn’t he the hunt saboteur?

Andy, New Zealand. Yourself in the USA. Did Roadie head to Australia? (remember the MK trip in his bus) and I'm sure there were a few others went to foreign parts, Blackheath Blade went to Birmingham which is as good as.
Yep, Roadie drives a bus in Sydney these days.

Hammersmith (Martin Smith) is also in Australia and seems to be doing very well with his guitar making.

Blackheath on viewpoints (Andy H) is still down there somewhere but spends his working weeks in Paris.

He was indeed.

He comes back occasionally, usually around Christmas, and I managed to throw a pint of the Sentinel's best all over his lovely wife in the not too distant past.

(not like me to be drinking at a game ;))

The last time I saw him we had just beaten someone early season with Sammon and Sharp up front and I was saying what a promising pairing they looked. Not one of my finest hours.

Am coming back that route at an amazing price of The Hawtorns to Canterbury including high speed for 11.50. A day return to Chatham costs more!
My other hot tip for southern blades is megatrain, I did Donny to Pancras after the Norwich home match this season for £4.25 and they are doing the same for our Bolton home match but I'm sorted by our normal chiltern route.

He used to mention Glasgow Girl quite a lot if I remember, did she become Mrs Musical?

Peterborough away? The number of games Sammon actually performed in was approximately 1.

I moved to London in 1997 and contacted the club to enquire about any London based supporters groups. They gave me the details of Beverley (I think) who lived in Norwood (I think) and as far as I recall she said that she no longer had time to organise stuff and that I should get in touch with a chap in Wimbledon called Simon.

I was living in Finchley at this point with a Wendy supporting actor (who is currently in a popular Netflix show) and I arranged to meet Simon one evening outside Fulham Broadway tube station. For some reason we missed each other and re-arranged it for a different evening and this time we met in the pub opposite the station. Simon had been in various London Blades variations since the early 80's and knew of a few London Blades through a Blades newsgroup (the name of that group escapes me) but I think it was also the start of the viewpoints forum. So Simon sent a few messages in the infancy of the internet via the sufc newsgroup/viewpoints and carrier pigeon and set up a meet at The George Pub in Fulham Broadway. I would say that there were around 8 of us their that night including Wolves Blade (Martin now in Australia), Musical ( Now in NZ), Soho Blade ( Nigel - Now back up North), Wimbledon Blade (Simon now in Sheffield). Foz Blade ( Not sure) and a couple of others who I'm sure I will remember later. This group became a version of the London Blades that would stay together for the next 15 years or so before LB's moving to NZ, USA, Australia and back to Sheffield /Donny etc.

We didn't really have a plan as such and it wasn't a membership only group or anything like that. I think the original group emails sent with details where to meet etc may have been sent by Musical and then I started doing it and then eventually passed it on to Walthamstow Blade. Walthy had the enthusiasm needed and was an ideal man for the job. I did also set up a London Blades Message Board too which is probably still lurking about somewhere...

With us lot though, it wasn't just about going to games, some of us used to regularly hang around together socially and even form bands together. The Fulham Monty was a highlight of course, forget the result what a day we had. A certain pub in Putney didn't know what hit them when 200 half cut Blades walked in. Many memorable days and nights in the Comedy Pub too including the Aston Villa match in the Prem when even Sean Bean turned up one night to watch it with us. Which reminds me we also used to watch matches at the Green Man and French horn on St Martins Lane. We had just played and gone out against Liverpool in the cup and Sean Bean had been playing Macbeth in the theatre over the road. He walked into the pub amongst a chorus of Na Na Na Na - He's a Blade and he's a Blade. Great times and many more stories.

Hi All - Where in London do you believe the Blades fans will be meeting before and after for the Arsenal game on 18th January?

Considering there'll be at least 3000 of them travelling, a rather large venue if they're all heading for the same place :D

I'm not trying to hijack here. But.....
I have lived back in Sheffield since 1993. From 1981 to 1993, me & a small number of people I'm still in contact with travelled to a lot of United games together from London. Of course, in those days, we knew each other in our small group, but it was difficult to know if other small groups of "London Blades" were doing the same. (No Facebook, etc then).
I'd be slightly interested in an "oral history" of London Blades. Does anyone go way back? Anyone want to drop any names?
Just interested in oral

To dig a thread up from the dead - heard at QPR the plan for the Wednesday game is the Yak at Elephant and Castle, is that still the case?

Far as I know it is. The LBs have a FB group.
