Did more in his 1st 5 minutes on the pitch than Cotterill managed in 60. Even if he can only last an hour he must start. He actually looks like he knows what he's doing on the ball.

He wasn't. He looked like his legs had gone, but that he'd still got the calmess and quality on the ball (a few absolute howlers aside).

Kyel Reid was the most impressive for me.

i know this is like square pegs in round holes, but little was constantly looking for the ball and looking for the pass, i reckon he should replace monty (i know this might cause argument) on saturday, iv never really liked monty tbh - i know he runs around and makes a lot of tackles and puts on a lot of pressure but i really dislike him as a player. hes probably a really nice guy but id rather have good footballers than nice guys!!

Yet has barely kicked a ball for us so far.

I'm amazed he hasn't been a regular. He looked the business preseason.

As for Little, I think he came in and played a solid midfielders role, he changed the game for sure but don't be too harsh on Cotterill, he was running past players, repeatedly beating them and getting balls in and offering something different to Little, on another day (with more aware forwards/a little more luck) he could have easily have had a few assists under his belt.

I perfonally think Cotterill had a good game before being subbed (mind you I had had around 12 pints.

He looked a threat, taking men on, putting some decent balls in the box.

Totally agree - his movement to get into space to receive passes was markedly so different from the rest of the statues, he also appears to be a leader on the pitch, pointing and demanding.

I thought Cotterill was having a good game and only really got subbed because he'd run his guts to water. He was covering Walker a lot last night, got stuck in and looked really hungry.

With some fans though, it's this same old problem that they had with CKR, Ifill, Alan Quinn and countless others. Players like Cotterill have the ability to turn a match in an instant. They might do feck all for 85 minutes but then put in a pinpoint cross that no other bugger is capable of and it's in the net. Indeed, isn't that pretty much what happened with our goal (and possibly our only attack) at Swansea?

I'm not stalwartly defending Cotterill but I will always defend wingers. Sir Alf Ramsey, for all his knighthood-worthy achievements, put "football" back decades by phasing them out.

I often criticise Cotterill, but like I said before the match last night... I think many people forget his age too. He's still only young, as are a number of our players. Wingers are always inconsistent, those who aren't are the top players in the world.

Last night, I thought Cotts was much better than he was at the weekend. He still frustrated at times, but he was better. He was definitely tiring and we needed to change things.
