Wouldn't you agree that our squad was enormous, too big to work with?
Clearly Clough is responsible for that - there's not even a question there.
Of that huge squad, list the players you'd like to keep?
Why he should have been allowed to buy "7 more" players is beyond me. The wheels fell off before the end of last season.

Yes our squad was big, but again, who's to say how that would have changed in the summer. Adkins and the board knew the squad was big, could have made changes but didn't.
Also, to reiterate again, this 'awful' squad finished 5th quite comfortably last season. Yes we had Murphy, but we didn't have a striker of sharps caliber.
Players I like that Clough brought in: brayford, done, Adams, I actually like Scougall if he's used right, everyone seems to be pleased with Coutts this season, I like Bob Harris, I think basham is a good squad player, McNulty scored 10+ goals last season but it all depends on his attitude, I like Reed and think he's got a good future if developed right. Everyone seemed happy with Kieran Wallace until Adkins dropped him, after giving him a new 2 year contract!
Remember there are a lot of players that Clough didn't bring in and weren't 'his' players - Collins (who he wanted out), both keepers, Baxter (who he would have gotten rid of), Cuvelier wasn't a Clough signing, Flynn wasn't a Clough signing.
So out of the current squad, the players that I think we'd probably all most likely want to keep are Clough signings.
Clough signings in the squad that aren't worth keeping on - McEverly, Campbell-Ryce (Clough would have got rid of him last summer anyway), probably McNulty if he can't get his attitude right, probably Scougall who I do quite like and I think there's a player there, freeman (who actually looked okay for a time), mcgahee (if that's the right spelling!), those players you may as well throw on Adkins duds - woolford, Hammond, Edgar. So it's like for like there.
We have no idea of knowing how the summer would have gone with Clough, but we keep hearing words like consistency, stability, patience, time etc. well those should all have applied to Clough and we had a great chance to get the first bit of stability since Warnock left and push on this year.
Now we've wasted year, and have to hope that Adkins gets it right this summer, if not, he'll be out in December and we start again.
