Lewis O’brien

If Hamer does go then this surely would be a deal Wilder will want to do. He's only been on the bench for Boro of late, Carrick has also been coy on whether they'd bring him back. I think if United want him O'Brien would want to come although O'Brien has said he would definitely go back if the offer came from Boro but I also suspect that he would say that if asked because it's the standad thing to say. Even BBD has said similar for us and we all know there's no chance of that!

In terms of Forest not wanting him to join us, surely that only applies when we were in the same league as them, if they stay up I'm sure the'd be happy to loan him to us or sell. It would probably be a loan knowing United but he would be someone we can realistically sign as opposed to recent loan deals where the players were younger and valued at £20m plus, and Doyle was still one of those despite low fee because of the Wolves playing going the other way to City.

O'Brien has had a serious injury though last season, he seems over that now but I think that might put Wilder off a little.
the obrien of his huddersfield days would be a great signing but dont think hes reached those heights with boro maybe the injury has affected him im sure wilder sees him in the john fleck role forest are staying up so obrien and worrall will be allowed to leave imo

Boro have turned down the chance to sign him, strange one. We can’t afford him.

There's no chance he's at Forest come 1st September, they'll need to get rid of him somehow. I suspect they'll end up having to subsidise his wages for a Championship club.

With our record of crocks , we shouldn't be thinking about players with recent serious injuries - we must stop shooting ourselves in the foot - our medical dept is not clever enough to make judgements on these scenarios - I know Brewster's injuries with us were different to his previous ones but for a financially strapped club like us , it was never sensible to punt £23m on him.
We need to be looking for younger athletes with no serious injuries in their recent past.
Wilder has stated that "availability" is crucial - I hope he sticks to that.

All Nixon does atm is link us with a player that we’ve been linked with before then say ‘but any deal could be interrupted due to the takeover’

If we’re playing 2. Hamer, Arblaster, Souza, Dozzell (maybe), Shakleton, Davies. A lot of options there….
