Lewis O’brien

I think O’Brien fits well into the 5311 with O’Hare playing off Moore. If it’s the 4231 I’m not sure where he fits in. Good strength in depth though for sure!
 
Wilder has wanted him for a while id guess. Surely between us and Burnley. Forgot about O'Brien! Id presume he'd play in one of the deeper midfield roles alongside Shackleton or Arblaster I'd guess.

Only thing I can think is he’s not sure on Dozzell, Davies is miles off & Shackleton will be played RB

If he’s taking Dozzell & O’Brien we’ve got 6 CM Inc Souza, Hamer, Davies, Arblaster
 
Forest just touting everyone at the moment in their overbloated squad. They will start off asking for ridiculous fees to try & get them out of more FFP shit & the likes of O’Brien will yet again be loaned out at 10pm on deadline day somewhere.
 
Surprised if this is happening if we're also signing Dozzell. We're likely to have only two central midfield spots and we already have a number of options.

I suppose Peck, Blacker and Hampson may go on loan, but still we've got Arblaster, Souza, Hamer, Davies, Slimane, Shackleton, possibly Dozzell...

Yesterday's starting back four had an average height of about 5'9. Not sure we should be filling the midfield with even more short players.
 
wanted us to bring o'brien in for a while now but having doubts now he didnt pull any trees up at boro and not looking like their going back in for him

I guess if O’Brien was to arrive Dozzell probably won’t. Then add Davies’s injury woes and there’s room for another, especially if Souza leaves

Or perhaps it might just be O’Brien is insurance for if Souza goes?
 
He'll choose us over Burnley due to our long term 25 year interest

Not sure what it would mean for Dozzell but it would mean no Grimes or McLean

Souza will possibly go too and then maybe we need both Shackleton and O'Brien.

I support that, making Slim our cult hero! Strange running style, but some surprisingly good technical bits. Bit mad as well. But how do we make it happen?

I think Shackleton will play right back, Davies is injured and I still wouldn't be surprised if two of Arblaster, Hamer and Souza leave so maybe we're not as well stocked as it looks at the moment?

Agree on the physicality point. Was pleased to see that Peck looks bigger and stronger than I remembered from when I last saw him. I was also pleased to see him bollock Kieffer Moore for not passing to him, shows he's got the right sort of personality for first team football.

Agree that we'd need an addition if one of those three left. But if so, I'd want a bigger (and better) signing than O'Brien.
 
i think wilders been waiting for forest to make obrien available on loan both him and hecky before him like obrien thats clear weve tried to loan him previously but forest wanted a sale only if we have put a bid in for him i doubt we keep dozzell and hopefully if we do get him wilder can get him back to his form for udders from a few years back when he was in the top 3 midfielders in the championship
 
We definitely need more in midfield. Hamer could go at any stage, so could Souza, Davies may not be fit to play at all and for all his promise, Arblaster has yet to score a goal or create an assist, let alone be the anchor for a promotion chasing team. With all the Ifs and buts, would seem the right area of the squad to use a loan or 2. At worst, we have high quality competition in the squad.

He's a different type of player to Slimane but hopefully Slimane can come good this season too because no one is better at United for delivering a through ball than Slimane.
 
Not sure why so many are seeing the negative in this tbh. If he can rediscover his form at Udders he's a great player and we need bodies. If he fits in the budget then what's the issue?

Plus I highly doubt Souza will be here on Sept 1st, Hamer COULD go and we're all putting a lot on Blaster to complete an entire season uninjured or not losing form.
 
Would be an excellent signing, but be too expensive for us.
 
I'd just like to see us sign some more players. Plus a very good and capable option for us
 
I bet LA were willing to pay a larger portion/all of his wages. Better for Forest's accounts to have a full wage off the books for the year, rather than still be paying a chunk of it if they sent him to the Championship.
