Player Suggestion Lewis McGugan

Can't see Wilder going for a cock like this. I heard he refused to train at Wednesday as he didn't like the sessions Carlos put on

18 k a week to do fuck all or 10k a week (max) to get abused ? I think I know the answer to this one ,judging by his character. Hes stupid because he is a good footballer and memories are worth more than money I don't think he will get that.

Lazy fucker in training, especially when he doesn't agree with the coaches' methods, or so I hear.

Just been released by the Pigs! Cracking player when he's on form! I'm sure he won't be coming here but it would be interesting if he did!

He would be a bit of a coup if we could sign him but his wages would price us out even if we wanted him.

Sorry, I mean't his wage demands. :)
He's in no position to negotiate though is he? That's what I meant. He's an outcast, a reject, a fugitive, a sad face pressed up against the window of our lovely sweet shop, wishing he could afford something from our penny tray.

I posted pre season on here that we should consider him as a player suggestion. There wasn't much enthusiasm for it. Personally I think this is exactly the type of player who we could get a lot from - even if only for one season. And we could get him for nowt now and offer him peanuts.

I thought he'd be a decent signing for us but I don't know now.

However on the subject of players we've signed with perceived or actual 'attitude' problems.......

Michael Brown - Joe Royle told Warnock he couldn't wait to get rid of him.
Keith Gillespie
Paul Devlin (did have an attitude problem that was 'harnessed')

Ha-ha yes true about Devlin. Only played welll when he got angry and when he got angry he'd inevitably get sent off! Seriously good player though.

Would definitely hope we are now seriously considering at least talking to the lad.

Why? Good player but his attitude is shit. Refused to play in a different position then spent the next 2 years not bothered about playing first team football.

We aren't really desperate for him.

Wouldn't be averse to it if he wanted to come for a trial and work hard but being happy to rot in the reserves and not play for 12 months tell you something about attitude imo.

Still I'd trust wilder if he wanted a butchers at him.

I only said talk to him, not offer him a 3 year deal and Beatties alloys......all we know about McGugan is what has come from our Porcine neighbours, the truth is often completely different and the lad could have been frozen out for a number of reasons. He's a quality player and by talking to him we may find that he is desperate for a clean start and would be a fantastic asset....Wilder would know within seconds whether he would be a player that would fit in or not.

I suspect he'll be on his way to South Wales to play for Uncle Neil

Players nearly always improve once they have seen the light, the list is lengthy,it would tickle me pink if we signed this lad and he went on to play a starring role for us

He's got an awful attitude, hence why his careers bombed.

Tell him to fuck off if he comes anywhere near the lane, and when he gets there to fuck off a little bit more.

And bag one at the sty!

He would have to start on the bench, when he warms up he gives the V sign to the Wednesday fans, then notches the winner in the last minute, hey presto a United legend is born

He's definitely one worth talking to, if only to gauge where he's at mentally. I thought Coutts looked like he'd mentally checked out under Adkins and we've seen the resurrection job Wilder's done with him. If it turns out McGugan is motivated to redeem himself then you never know.

My main concern is the reports that he's had multiple loan offers from interested clubs since being frozen out at Wednesday and he turned them down in favour of training with the reserves - not promising as far as his character goes. Shame, as he's proven himself to have real talent when he's invested.
