regardless of the play off result, i fear we could be in the darkness of league one fora while, i mean, if we scuff or wary into the Championship with an 89th minute goal in off Robsons arse, Will we really be able to complete next season? where will mccabetake us in the following Years? most likely down and back up! that's my take on it

I've plumped for League One but I wouldn't be at all surprised if it went tits up and light out before 10 years is up.

I'd expect us to be in the championship, if anything from the larger backing we get at home/ more income we receive compared to others, we should always be able to afford one of the better teams in leauge one so eventually we must go up. but I do not know when, if teams like wolves keep going down we will find it hard.

The money that nonsense English clubs like Bournemouth throw about will dry up eventually.

The thing that United have in their favour is the fanbase which will be an even more important lifeblood for Clubs in the English game in 10 years time than it is now IMO.

Even in a season or two I see the Blades being a comfortable Championship team with strong aspirations for the Premier League again.

At some point we will return to what we are, a club that wanders up and down between the top two division.

Hopefully in 10 years time we will be back in that cycle. Unless some enormously rich new owner takes over!

I would like to see us in the top half of the Championship, that is a realistic aim if we can find some stability within the club.

Go back 10 years to the wonder season of 02-03 and you could have asked the same question. I doubt anyone on here would have said we would be in league 1.

10 Years? Championship with a bit of luck - if we haven't gone down again

Where will I be when we are next in the premiership?

Here probably - well I am 63 soon...

is that a relatives grave or just a random photo?
cos if it is random, and you want to bunk up with a dead stranger to save on costs, i think they seriously frown on that kind of thing.

Indeed. I think top flight would have been most peoples guess 10 years ago, as it possibly would for most previous seasons ending in 3.

1993. Top flight, FA Cup Semi finalist.
1983. In Div 3, but on the upward curve again and feeling good.
1973. Top flight, Woody/TC, happy days.
1963. Top flight, it's where we belong.
1953. Div 2, CHAMPIONS, back in the big time to stay.
1933/23/13/03 Top flight.

You forgot promotion in 1893!

I have said League 2 but really it will be League 2 then back to League 1 then possibly back the Championship.

It all depends on how soon McCabe gets out of our club.

I should have had an each way bet! Didn't turn out too bad in the end for the Blades from when I first posted this. Interestingly, the team that beat us in the 2012/13 playoff semi final and then got got promoted to the Championship - Yeovil Town - have just been relegated this season to the National League South.

BornOnShorehamStreet - happy birthday for your 73rd which must be coming soon and now twice in the prem!

If there were awards for patience, keeping ones powder dry and timing, particularly in such an incredible year of events 'Dozys embargoed 2023 with regained promotion to the EPL' then this evidence shows peer acknowledgement and a round of applause is due!!!
