Whatever people think about the reasons behind our relegation, when the final whistle went against Wigan, a small part of every Blade died. Things have never been the same since and in my opinion never will be. That was our chance to be a meaningful top flight club, the chance to pull away from Wendy for decades. I know older Blades will cite other relegations and Chelsea was obviously bad enough but Wigan was just too much of a blow to fully recover from.
There's been some good stuff on here recently and as soon as Warnock is mentioned I think the bitterness/upset/distress/devastation that most of us felt that day and still feel now comes out. I feel bitterness towards West Ham, plenty feel bitterness towards Warnock himself but it's still there, very close to the surface for me and I think plenty of others as well. Everything we discuss now stems from that day for me.
