Told ya all, was the only bid we'd received, so there was no chance he was going to you lot.

You should concentrate on giving us 20m for your main target.

Did Swansea not give Fer a free transfer, was it not the case that he was a free agent, so why would anyone interested in him involve Swansea?

If we wanted him we should have moved earlier.

Hopefully there are other comparable midfielders in our range.

First we had the bees on here, bothering us, now we’ve got a swan attack. We need to be careful with these swans particularly. They can break your arm!

It must be horrible though, knowing that you’re going to lose your best player to a rival club. When I say “rival”, I use the term loosely because the swans are not our rivals, they are a division below and a league apart.

The swans are rivals with the Bluebirds. They should concentrate on that. Because when all other sense of pride has left them, they’ll still have the South Wales bragging rights to live for. Although Newport County and Total Network Solutions, might have something to say about that, such is the ferocity of football rivalry in Wales.

I was about to post to the effect that I considered the chap to be a bit of a bounder and a none too successful one at that .

However , I now realise that compared to yours it would be lacking in both clarity and directness , so I won't bother .:)
Thank fuck for that.

He's both a cunt and a failure. In the words of Alan Partridge 'I'll tolerate one but not both!'.

Fer is a serial Premier League failure. So many teams fall into the trap of picking up players who performed well in relegated teams, only to get relegated themselves. Let's not fall into that trap.

Edit: He's also a dastardly cheat. He'd be better off at Bielsa's dirty Leeds.

Where as we are going down the far more established route of acquiring ‘players who perform reasonably well for mid table championship clubs’, supplemented with a couple of ‘lost their way after showing early promise’ types, and a ‘return of the prodigal son’ thrown in for good measure. Infinitely better, I agree. ;)

Bet365 have not got merely us as favourites to go down, but favourites to go down like a bag of kittens on the back seat of a hatchback being driven around Ladybower with Teddy Kennedy at the wheel. The neutrals aren’t impressed with what we’re doing. :(

Played golf the other week, Leeds fan in a Leeds cap overheard our conversation about Bruce leaving Wednesday and assumed we were from the dark side. Said I suppose you hate those xxxxx as well then but for them We would have been in the premiership, then went on about how unlucky they were and best team in championship etc. Etc.

I said :———- having seen your golf it appears that’s falling apart again, unlike us [ singing ) as were going on a journey to the XXXXXXX Prem, nah nah nah nah nah nah

His face dropped and stormed out of the bar.

Loved it, absolutely loved it.

The Leeds fan at work never stopped going on about how "unlucky" they were in front of goal.

Got shit and unlucky mixed up I think

Shared train seats with three Leeds fans the other week. They're almost as delusional as Wednesday fans.

'Bielsa is one of the world's greatest coaches'. (er, so why's he at Leeds?)

'The Blades were lucky at Leeds - just one shot on target.'

'...and that was from that donkey Basham.'

'Basham? What a joke! Not a patch on
...(wait for it)...Pontus Jansson.'

Nurse!

I dunno, I like the use of 'bounder'. He's a rotter and a cad, to boot.

Should be "boundah" though if we are referring to caddish behaviour. "Bounder" would be suitable if we are referring to him having a leaping or bouncing movement?

Regardless - let him FERk off to Feyenoord.

Bet 365 also had Stoke to be promoted last year as 13/8 favourites closely followed by Boro at 11/4 .

I predicted that neither would be and am now predicting that the Blades will stay up comfortably , providing we sign at least one of Maupay , McBurnie or Gayle which I'm pretty sure we will . :)

You can have Leon Britton back for 500k.
Am I the only person who liked him and thought he looked head and shoulders above everyone else on the pitch in regards to talent and technique but was terribly utilised by clueless managers?
A Benz Patent-Motorwagen when we were only interested in Penny-farthings.

Kinda. But you could also tell he didn’t give a shiny shit about playing for us either.

He was a great footballer for knocking short, give and go passes to open sides up and retain possession. Why we signed him when we at that stage played football in the clouds and subsequently everything went over his head is a question for that tactical mastermind Kevin “charisma” Blackwell.

I can see that, but when we signed him I thought we’d turned a corner and we’re looking to change how we played. We didn’t, and were surprised when he seemed totally out of place.
I can see why he quickly became disillusioned with us, as I felt the same.

Yep. About as far from a Blackwell signing as you could find. Felt he would’ve done better under Speed but we never really got chance to see it work. Garbage squad though.

No, I liked Britton. He was a talented player, playing with a bunch of oil tankers. He was quality at Swansea in a system that suited him. Think he had the highest pass rate in Europe one season.

God knows why he moved to us to play under Blackwell other than the £, but pretty sure we were skint at that point. It was career suicide, never known such a bad fit for a player. He must've known that when he signed surely?

Just think, Micky Adams replaced him with Michael Doyle.

I don't disagree entirely with that sentiment, but buying Championship players who might step up is far better than proven (and repeated) failures.

The neutrals weren’t impressed with what we were doing last season either. Until we pissed all over them and won promotion. Which the bookies incidentally had not predicted.

Not surprised by this but I would have thought Norwich spending less than many top-end Championship teams and Newcastle imploding would have been of greater concern! That and employing Steve Bruce!
