I would personally keep Leonard. He has a combination of pace, height and athletism that is quite rare and much sought after in a center mid and showed good signs of finding his feet at Championship level when he came on against Norwich.

I don't get why we wouldn't sting them for more cash.

If they are getting 7m for Saville why are we not asking a far bigger fee?

Double your money might seem good but that's not how the market has moved this past year. If Saville's value has gone tenfold then why hasn't Leonard's increased more?

He has value to us. It's not as if we can't wait to get rid. I'd be asking 2.5m to 3m or no sale.

You can bet your bottom dollar that if itnwas the other way around and we were sniffing round signing Leonard from Millwall who was a decent squad player for them, I think we would have to go north of £2m before they would sell to a divisional rival.

We should keep him, at least until January. Be daft to let him go, we have already culled the squad quite considerably and we could do with his versatility. I hope we keep him, he might be a very valuable player for us yet.

If the 1.5million is the difference between getting a striker and not, then I'm happy for us to drop our knickers and fall 500k short.

Because he has played about 10 minutes football since signing for us....there is no way on earth he is worth anything like £2-£3m

Nah, hold out like Ipswich did on Wankhorn. We could have had him last season fo <£1m, a year later it's £5m plus big wages. Millwall want Leonard, let's see how much.
Risk is millwall might switch their attention to Johnson as part of the Saville deal.

We don't need to sell him and he's filling a role here so let's go overboard and if they want to pay that we let him go otherwise he stays

Speaking of Leonard, sounds like Wilder is willing to move on if he can pull a Norwood/Evans type improvement in.
I can't think of another time we made a deal anything like that and you want 2 in a transfer window?

Leonard is worth 2-3m in the same way Saville is worth 7m.

If Leonard is only a fifth the player Saville is, which they are supposedly offering, then why would they be even interested?

They obviously think he can fill the gap Saville is leaving so why would we not rate him proportionately? They are a divisional rival. They can't expect to get top whack for Saville then pick up his replacement for 20% of his price when both are playing for teams in the same division.

Either he's good enough to fill the vacancy left by Saville and therefore attracts a fee that supports this or he isn't, in which case they wouldn't be interested.

We needn't be so naive. if Leonard goes there or not, it will have no bearing now on Johnson or Fletcher joining us as McQueen will free up Johnson and Fletcher will depend on other things, given he is a striker. We're under no obligation to quote a 'fair' price for Leonard. The price for Saville is also massively inflated.

Fletcher's hold up according to Nixon and others is that he's costing more than we expected and that Boro want us to buy him.

Saville had a cracking season for Millwall and has more pedigree than Leonard. The rise in fee is hardly an exact science.

I like Leonard, but if he has to be sacrificed to get a striker in, then fair enough. I'd hope there'd be a good sell on % too.

In fact, given that Leonard hasn't forced his way into the first team through performances last season and this, it could be argued that his value has gone down. If we get double, then we've done well in my opinion.

Leonard's value is whatever value we put on him.

We have already culled the midfield considerably, we don't need to sell, that's a fact. Milwall need to buy, that is also a fact.

So why the fuck should we drop our trousers when we hold all the cards?

Personally I'd keep hold of, reckon he'll get a lot more game time this season.

It seems that Leonard has settled now, has put in some encouraging performances this season which augers well for his future with us and now we may sell him.

What a waste. He’s a valuable player. His mere presence in the squad protects us against injuries against RCB, CB, RWB, CM and AMC because you can push Fleck further forward. You need a few players to achieve that without him given Bash is in the team.

You see how lean the squad is with the team photo. Sell him and a few months into the season I think we’ll regret it.

Agree we should hold onto Leonard, provides good competition in most areas and could even play striker. Why not, he has all the attributes, remember Colin franks?

I think what Leonard wants out of this might be a factor and I would guess he'd be up for moving, since he hasn't played much here and his missus is from Essex apparently.

Agreed that Leonard’s take on things will have a bearing but no reason why we should not hold onto him until January.

The Leonard situation is identical to the position Boro are in with Fletcher. Squad player but not going to let him go on the cheap to a rival who are desperate to fill a position !

Glad we're holding out for a good price for Leonard. We have no need to sell. Only benefit I see is if we get so much it helps us land a striker. But not sure it does. And Wilder doesn't exactly need to balance the books right now after the Brooks sale.

I’d love to know how much we want if their offer is what I was told it was, fair play United, I like Leonard I really don’t want to see him go
