Not if the deal is done for a permanent transfer in January. Plus then it mean they wouldnt be able to play against them in October

It makes no sense for them. If they weren't willing to accept a cash offer for either player in August, why on earth would they accept the offer of £0 now, but money in January? Even at our most inept transfer-wise, we wouldn't have accepted that sort of deal. They'll be heavily constrained getting any replacement because they'd be restricted to players clubs would be willing to loan. As we're discovering now, that's not a particularly open market.
