Still not impressed with Hill at left back and, if the rumours of Williams' injury are true, we're short of cover anyway. Anyone know why Taylor hasn't been playing - I thought he did well in his comeback game but hasn't featured since.

I agree with all of your comments as well. Hill looks awful and I would honestly have Taylor over him any day. I think Taylor is one of the greatest ball players in our squad - his measure and accuracy of his passes is quality... I just don't get why Danny isn't really giving him much of a chance at all as he is available and he played for the reserves on Wednesday.
Yes, I saw Collins giving Hill 'what for' and it continued for the next few breaks in play too. I'm all for good communication thoughDid anyone else notice Collins ripping Hill a new arse when all the other players were celebrating the equaliser. Strangely in all the games I have seen he does get a little better in the 2nd
LJF is one of the worse left backs in recent years. Positionally poor, can't pass and reckless in the tackle. The one quality he does have is his ability in the air. The main ability Hill has(although I don't think he is as bad as some on here make out) is his strength in the air.
Personally I would prefer Williams.
Maguire was the worse defender on the pitch for us yesterday by a country mile
I felt hill's heading was poor yesterday. Yes he did win alot of balls in the air, however alot of the balls went straight back to a leyton orient player.I believe Hill gets the nod (literally) due to his heading ability.
The goal wasn't Hill's fault yesterday
I am sure that DW has him in for his aerial ability relative to Williams and Taylor.
It's one area we need to address next season. Plenty of left backs but none of them Championship quality

The left back position is the weakest in the team and it has to have an effect on Stephen Quinn,as he has played with so many different players in that position.I believe the left full back position is one which we will have to address immediately upon going up, along with a few other areas of the squad. We have had more players in that position that anywhere this season. It may also serve to highlight the stick that Quinn gets on here in that he hasn't consistently played with the same left full back. Not defending players here......just a thought? Williams, LJF, Taylor and Hill have all been tried at Left-Back and none of them look any better than League One standard (IMHO).
The Lowton-Williamson combination would work in the league above as well. UTB.
Hill would be shit with Gareth Bale in front of him. Its not Quinn (who by the way had a good game yesterday)Switch that round and the one consistent part of this is Quinn ,he does not support his full back positionally and gives the ball away time and again forcing the full back into 2 minds whether to go forward. Quinn looks like he is chasing back because he doesn't read the game and is reactive rather than proactive. Lowton trusts Williamson ,but the same happens to him when Quinn goes to the right. He may be a good footballer with a talented left foot but there is so much missing from his game ,which is why he wont play at a higher level.
Someone should run a poll on the left back position Hill/LSJ/Taylor/Williams out of interest.

However, as Hill is the latest in a long line of 'whipping boys' (and yes, he hasn't looked too convincing lately), four points clear of the Pigs with three to play and still folk look for the negative element
Its good enough for me that Danny thinks he's the one best suited to the left back spot, rather than all the knowledgeable managers in the stands who think otherwise (of course they all have their right on come on here and state their preferences though!)
And Stanny if you think Quinn had a good game then his standards have dropped enormously.
