4/6 matches against teams with something to play for? Brentford and Pigs are locked into mid table and Ipswich will be down by then, what am I missing?
Well I would say Bruce has got something to prove regardless of position. It's gone OK so far but he's not pulling up any trees. The last thing he will want is to be turned over by a Yorkshire rival they see as being on a par (or much smaller ).

Some are certainly on a downer, let’s hope it stays like that. Simply Loveleh.

Lose at Preston....

and it will be the final nail in coffin

Supporting Leeds has conditioned me to expect the absolute worst and I hate to say but I think we've blown it.

Look at the fixtures we have and tell me we wont lose at least one more game? especially playing as shite as today?

Every single time this season we've had a chance to capitalise our position we have completely and utterly fooked it.

Dropping points far too regularly since Xmas. Losses to QPR and Birmingham, two of the poorest teams in the division plus losing at home to our two rivals Sheff Utd and Norwich all in the past 3 months, quite honestly we don't deserve promotion playing like that.

We've been relying on other teams slipping up since Christmas, hence why Norwich have now steamed ahead as we've faltered, because the Canaries/Blunts have upped it a gear and we haven't. I'm absolutely gutted with our performance & defeat today. Six matches left and we go into it having lost to a team who are utter sh*te, gifted 2nd to the Blunts who got a great result and we face three play-off chasing sides in good form.

The Blunts will drop points, problem is Leeds will too. Cant see us overtaking them now, bar last week their form is consistent. Strikers converting one in eight chances, the inability to keep a clean sheet & totally relying on 33 yo Pablo to create everything are a recipe for failure. Add to that our player of the season walked out of St Andrews with a protective boot on, a possible injury I was always concerned may happen is not we need going into our final six games

Squeeky bum time for us and Leeds. We have pipped them to the post before and can do it again.

Hope renewed after last weekend. Belief round the corner with good results weds and Saturday. Leeds inconsistency is flavoursome. Confidence within reach after Easter. Hallelujah indeed.

I still think Birmingham were about the best side to visit the Lane this season. Stopped us playing without resorting to shithousing.
One of few I’ve walked away from being glad with just the point! Think they hit the woodwork a couple of times.

Agree, that night Birmingham reminded me of Fleetwood, the night match when we lost 0-2.

As expected Birmingham parked the bus, we had loads of attacks but couldn’t find space and struggled to create a single chance.
With 20 minutes to go, it became clear we were never going to score as the Brum defence was so good, so i’d settled for a 0-0 draw.

However for the last 20 minutes, it’s as though Gary Monk gave his team the sign to attack.
They we’re quick on the break pushing plenty of numbers forward, we looked tired and they had us on the ropes.

They really should have scored in the last 5 minutes and it was a big relief to hear the final whistle.

The key here though is that Birmingham’s style suits them better to playing away.
They prefer to sit back, concedes possession, soak up the pressure, then get you on the break. That’s what they did both times beating Leeds home and away but I can’t see us going to St Andrews dominating the game in the same way.

It will be interesting to see if Monks gameplay is to sit deep like an away side and let us have loads of possession in their half, with the plan that they get us on the break. Brum are at home so I doubt they’ll sit back. Also Gary Madine might prove pivotal tonight.

For me the number of players, not to mention coaching staff, we have that have had a promotion recently could be a deciding factor.

How many of Leeds squad have promotion chasing experience?

Personally I was gutted after the Bristol City game not just because we lost but because we deserved to lose, they were better than us on the day.

When was the last time we were battered by anyone (Shit just remembered Birmingham at home 1-1 but we were lucky)

I would much sooner lose to the better team on the day than as a result of a refereeing error or cynical tactics like for example Middlesborough, MK Dons and Norwich in recent seasons. It’s football.

In what way were we lucky against Birmingham? Did someone move the goalposts just as they were taking a shot?

Probably a bit of understanding of the game. Once the whistle goes, the vast majority of professional footballers don’t believe they have nothing to play for. They have. The game in front of them. They want to win. Ipswich, for example. Teams often gain a new lease of life once the pressure is off.

as we say 7 days is long time in football. just because it wasnt promotion secured at leeds. it wasnt all over & play offs v bristol city. there are 6 games of course there are not confident. we arent confident. this will not be straight forward we all know that. weve got birmingham who beat leeds, millwall who shouldve beat Brighton pushed leeds & beat west brom, Forest will tricky good players. Adkins on easter Monday has got irony wrote all over it

I’m quite sure one could come up with similar considerations for Dirty Corrupt Leeds’ opponents. It’s all a bit contrived in any event. What Millwall and Birmingham have done in other games is supremely irrelevant once the whistle blows. Forest? All Championship teams have some good players. We’ve already beaten Hull and irony this season. The result will be governed by what happens on the pitch, not by literary devices.

Personally I think goal difference will play a big part in the promotion race

What big part? It will either be absolutely decisive or irrelevant. The overwhelming likelihood is that it will be irrelevant.

Not true. Teams have been promoted and relegated on us alone.
Given we and Leeds are separated by a mere point it is quite possible we could finish the season level on points.

Of course it’s possible. But a quick peek at statistics will confirm that it’s highly improbable.

Fucking Leeds fans, one loss and they're in meltdown, the same players who have done so well for them this season have gone to shit, rumours of mysterious injuries, i'm delighted our fans didn't overreact after the loss against Bristol.

Carling is well known for its ability to remove the capacity to understand simple concepts like human nature and the totally emotive nature of the reaction to the love of ones life losing a potential season defining game.
Drink something else.

If we were separated by 3,4,5 points or more I would agree.
I would very much prefer to have a superior GD under current circumstances.
You must of course not give a flying if it's your thang.

Does it make your knees jerk? Our spineless Jellybabies don’t need a drink to do that.

Better goal difference is massive if Leeds draw and we win on Wednesday it goes to three points

Which would mean we’d be able to lose a game and still likely have it in our hands

GD is hugeee

Unless we lose that game 6-0...

Unless we are level at the end of the season it is supremely irrelevant.

I walk amongst mad people.

My Leeds 'friend' hasn't been on twitter or facebook since last week after gloating at the results the weekend before last. I, though, am keeping my powder dry until it is decided one way or the other. I'd love it, just love it............. (Hope that doesn't go the way after Kevin saying it, did)

It’s going to be tit for tat for the last 6 games, it’s a mini season now. The only set of cretins who would be declaring themselves promoted are the other lot at S6. Most other sets of fans have reasonable expectations of their own achievements and potential finishing position.

Rightio I’m sure Wigan fans also thought the same and man city fans when they won the league in the last minute the other year
