Don't know if this has already been mentioned, but I do like Wes in all aspects apart from his slow distribution. Too many fake throw outs instead of actually doing it. Other keepers seem to release the ball quicker for counter attacks, but Wes has always been too slow.

Not sure whether it's him or tactics but, the ability needs implementing either way. We need every tactic available to us now we are in the Prem. Archer, Larouci, Traore and McAtee are quite rapid.

It‘s also partly down to player fatigue. When we’re under pressure, we need to breathe for a moment when an attack ends. Man City scored at a time we were desperate to break up the game but couldn’t.

As we get fitter, I expect quicker releases.

The time he was appointed our 1st goalie I didn't know anything about him nor had much faith in him. Previous two seasons he has been one our most reliable players and I'm happy to see he keeps going strong in Premier League as well even while we haven't had the smoothest start with fixtures.

Think there’s a bit of unfair piling in on Ramsdale. In my view he’s a decent keeper, England decent though? I’m not so sure, I don’t even think it’s cut and dried between him and Raya as number one at Arsenal.

Wes continues to impress. I was one of those who thought the prem might be beyond him but even though it’s early days in this league he’s done well. I still think he needs competition though. Davies isn’t good enough and Amissah needs regular games on loan to season him up a bit

He was, which is why I don't look at those types of awards, the sport is a team game. Ramsdale conceded 43 goals in 38 matches. Including 7 against Man City (2 Prem games), 5 against Brighton (2 Prem games) and 4 against Southampton (2 Prem games) and those are just some of the stand out games. If we concede 43 goals, which would be more than likely over the course of this season we are likely to go down as we don't have the strike power to score by 2 or more in many fixtures.

Arsenal have quality up front so winning 3-2 at home to Liverpool or 4-2 away to Brighton (like last season), people aren't looking at the defence they see the 3 points in each game.

My main summary point is that at the top 6 sides the keeper is dependent on stopping a strike less as they face less shots. Wes over a course of a season will be needed "in action" more. Ramsdale is voted as a "top keeper" as he is at Arsenal but for no other reason, the award should be "best defence of the season" as ultimately you are looking at your back 4-7 (depending on formation) as the helping hand in that.

Realistically the only way to test would be for Wes to play for Arsenal for a season with Ramsdale also playing the same season in a Goalkeeper world simulator that is batshit mental. We certainly haven't missed Ramsdale since he left, not saying he is a bad keeper but i wouldn't rate him as number 1 in the country. The same with Wes agreed is a good GK but wouldn't say he is the best in the country, but with GK's being your last line of defence it is very difficult to work out who is better than who.

Tbf Ramsdale was awful when we first got him.

Opinions aside, he improved vastly after Christmas. I agree however that he is not in the top 3 English goalkeepers, and is in the squad purely because he plays for the Arse
