The reason I mention that specific line is because it stood out as unusual, at least to me, anyway. (Maybe you're right and I need to go back and watch more post-match conferences to get a better picture).
I've seen Wilder tear into his players before. All well and good. But it just seems unusual to criticise the players in a way that is not just about a specific performance, but about their inherent talent, level and ability. It's one thing to say 'you were poor', but another to say 'your natural level is poor'.
But yeah, it's rarely good to insult people, and not be constructive.
