Then you aren’t looking hard enough.
Why are women paid significantly less than men to do the same role? How are they protected from the disadvantae of having to leave the workplace for a period to have children?
Why is their voice not equally representing in the boardrooms up and down the country?
There are so many default states whereby the society we live in as been controlled by men for men for so long it’s almost second nature and challenges women face aren’t even considered.

Sure it’s slowly changing for the better but it’s nowhere near equal or fair currently.
Where are they paid significantly less for the same role? It's my understanding companies have to pay the same man , woman, black , white if there doing the same job with the same experience. If not they could be taken to court. Why don't said women do that? Quite often the pay gap is calculated by people in different jobs with different experience to make the case. despite this the most well paid people iv known have been women.

As regards to maternity leave I could argue why are men not offered equal treatment and receive the paid leave. This just highlights how unfairly favoured women are in regards to raising children. As if men can't do it. Women arnt forced to take a long leave it's a choice after the leave for medical reasons.

If I had a business id hire/keep/promote whoever was best for the job. To think the majority of business owners don't do this is Ludacris. At the end of the day sexist or not greed has always come above prejudice.

It only serves to frustrate men who actually have no prejudice against women. Getting told there's not enough women in this or that. Well its only them who can change that, nobody's stopping them.

There are times at BDTBL when I think about avoiding the queue and nipping in the ladies bogs at Half Time. With this gender fluidity bollocks (sic), is this finally the excuse I need?

Emotions always run high when folks are fighting for rights
Maybe because there are only two genders, male and female?

This propaganda being shoved down our throats does not belong in football. Football is a sport and a form of escapism for many, not a political and social tool to push a radical far left agenda onto society.
Emotions always run high when folks are fighting for summat.
The pendulum always swings a little too far one way or tother until all balance is lost.
Creating infinite genders to suit every nuance in human sexuality is the logical conclusion of not accepting there are basically just two.
We could have a ‘both’ box or a ‘not sure’ or even a ‘I’d rather not say’ option on every form but there will always be someone somewhere who can not find the perfect box.( if this makes you snigger you’re part of the problem,go and hug a tree now)

I think the solution is for the club to section off parts of the ground for everyone with a cause. I'm sorry to mention it to the LBGT's but there are multiple causes out there who think theirs is the most important. So in addition to the LBGT section, we could have an anti-fracking section, a vegan section, one for the environmentalists, the tree-felling protestors. Hell, we could even set up a Corbyn corner for Tyler. Me? Well, can we just set up a section for the I-just-want-to-watch-a fucking-football-match campaigners.

The difference is that those causes you list are matters of personal choice, your sexual preference isn't. I don't really see why people are getting so outraged about a couple of flags and some boot laces. Like you, I'm not really interested in who other supporters find attractive and what their sexual preferences are but I don't like the idea that certain groups of people might find going to the Lane in some way unwelcoming. (Unless they're pigs of course, they can fuck off)

I think you meant orientation, rather than preference. Even then, i would quibble that for everyone their orientation is not a matter of personal choice. Eg: a female friend of mine used to go out with another female fiend of mine. The former is now married to a bloke. You may think that makes her bisexual, but she now identifies as being straight.

Nobody puts Durden in the corner.

"Yes, operator? Have I been put through to the thread police? Ah good. We're going to need a few riot vans in the GBC, very off-topic with multiple contributors. Come as quick as you can, thanks bye."

"Oh, Can you send the rainbow coloured riot vans and only officers who identify as being LBGT please?"

Yes, orientation and I'm not saying it's a matter of choice, I'm saying the opposite. Whether you vote for Corbyn or protest about fracking etc are matters of choice, sexual orientation isn't. What one labels themselves is but as far as I'm concerned that's a personal matter and not my business.

I know you're saying it's not a matter of choice, i'm arguing that for some it is. But i realise scientific consensus is probably against me, and i'm not well read enough around the subject to argue it definitively!

And when new parents ask the doctor the gender of their new baby, I’m sure they don’t reply “I don’t know, let’s wait and ask it to decide”
Doctor's tend to be more concerned at the sex of the child at that age. There are two biological sexes.

I can only speak from personal experience and in my case I'm straight. I've never wanted to have sex with a bloke. Not even Coutts. Others may be different but I still believe it's something you're born with; straight, gay or bisexual. If a bisexual person wants to stick to the opposite sex and define themselves as straight, that's their business, if they want to stick with their own sex and describe themselves as gay, that's also their business etc. but whatever they choose, if they're Blades, they should be welcome at the Lane.

No there isn't. There are kids born with some organs of either genders like hermaphrodites.

I know of gays personally who have been going to the Lane for years, one of whom is (was) a noted BM poster. I'm not aware of any of them being made anything but welcome at the Lane. If it was suggested to him that special arrangements should be made for LBGTs at the Lane he would suggest that special arrangements should be made for those proposing such idiocy. I don't know what we're arguing about here.

You can still have sex with blokes and define yourself as straight. Obviously if all you ever did was sleep with blokes, some might raise an eyebrow at that straight definition, but if you occasionally have sex with a bloke (Either as part of some group thing, or one on one) then ithat does not necessarily mean you are bisexual. Some straight guys sleep with other men simply because it's easier to score.

We're not arguing. We're discussing. You made a comment likening LGBT to a number of other 'causes' and I pointed out why the causes you listed were different to being LGBT. That's all.

Tbh, I only come on this board to discuss football and I wish I'd just fucking ignored this thread. I'm a live and let live kind of person who doesn't see the need to make every issue party political (and I'm not referring to you when I say that) and tbh, I don't know why people get so steamed up about shit.

As I've already said, what people choose to label themselves as isn't my business.

The post I made about different causes was an attempt to inject a bit of humour into a well-worn and frankly boring discussion. Like you I wish I'd given this thread a miss.

Remember club director Sam Hashini who went abroad with clubs cash and came back as Samamtha.
I lived about a mile away from Sam in West London leading up to that time and a few of us kept inviting Sam out for a few beers with London blades but for some unknown reason he could never make it.
