Looks like people were right about the agreed amount to buy Panagiotis Retsos being too much in the current market especially with our loss from bo ticket money and the having to buy the stadium.

Going to be a case of surviving next season with a low budget for back up and then reassess at the end of next season. I had an incline money was a slight issue going forward after Besic and Restos went back and after CW said Billy was free to leave in January if he wanted, then we have given him a 2 year extension.

im not going to say berge was a mistake because of what ive seen so far because i dont believe that

but i will say his transfer was a mistake with the timing and the money paid, who knew at that time that covid would strike and prevent us from finishing the season properly, but looking back now, we were spending money we didn't have yet and we jumped the gun

Offering new deals to players the ages that Sharp, McG and possibly Jags are is worrying. I just hope this is supplemented with 2 or 3 players who will improve the 1st 11, ideally with a bit more pace as we struggle against quick opponents.

Overall it’s been a really good season but we need to build on it not stand still.

I think we'll have an incredibly small squad next year, it's going to be a massive struggle as the way things are standing the league overall will be stronger

I can see us having a smaller squad but the financial crisis will effect every premiership and EFL team unless they have owners with big pockets. Subsequently the league will be no stronger than it has been this season.

The major problem we will have is the possibility of continuing to play in empty stadiums and not having the momentum that has enabled us to take such great strides forward under Wilders management, no doubt next season will be the greatest test of wilder and knills management and coaching abilities.

Will HRH be able to find some backers to help?

We have also benefited this season as a number of “big” teams had shit foreign Managers. Arsenal, Everton, Oli at Manire struggling, Watford And Pot at Spurs had lost it So these clubs were playing well below par for their squads. Will that be the case next season?

He’s managing the fans expectations. I really don’t think the club is going to cut its nose off by not backing Wilder. He said the other day that £20m is not much in the PL so it stands to reason that a couple of £20m signings are within budget.

Remember speaking to Danish guy in Copanhagen who saw my Blades shirt and just wanted to talk about the Blades. He said they loved watching the Blades especially for the fan backing. One thing is he had a firm grasp of how the Prem works. Told me there wouldn't be a massive amount for players because we'd have to renew major parts of the ground, pitch, floodlighting, TV box for SKY etc and a1001 other things. The second season would be much better for player purchase. Can now see what he meant.

Next season is about survival for 13 clubs. As it is every year. Granted. But next year more than most.

The money flying around in football is going to be lower than we’ve seen it for some time.

Wilder is also good at throwing other clubs and agents off the scent. He doesn’t want them to know we may still have a fair chunk of money to spend.

Some of the stuff he is saying is similar to what he said pre COVID.

More budget buys from the EFL on the cards....expect more Robinsons (both) Osborns, Freemans instead of Berge's
I was going to write summat along those lines, maybe it will also prepare us for the Championship football 2021/22,because asking the players to again give 120% next season could be a step to far for some of them, some are showing signs of burnout now.

It's the Star and James Shield.............. I stopped reading after this - " With Zivkovic set to feature in the squad which faces Tottenham Hotspur this evening,"

What do people expect Wilder to say?.... We have loads of money, no financial implications on the ownership stuff, no problems with covid reducing revenue.... yeah bring it on, we are signing some reight players!

Tufty is doing what Tufty does brilliantly............... managing the expectation of bed wetter fans and greedy agents wanting to screw us. He will have a bob or two and will make us stronger. 👍 ⚔ ⚔

I actually thought that was quite positive. Calling 20-30M as ‘change’ suggests to me there’s still money to invest.
I’ve no problem with Billy’s contract extension cos he’s fit as a fiddle and scores goals! McGoldrick is one of our best players. And Jags does more behind the scenes than I think some give him credit for. Jags as a squad player for another year isn’t something to be concerned about in my opinion.
If we can add 2 or 3 players that are genuine 1st team challenges then we will be in a good position.
My only concern as it stands is the GK. IF we can get Hendo for a 3rd season then whilst it’s not ideal I’ll take it at this stage. If we can’t....

Hopefully he's seen something in Zivkovic that we haven't, he's supposed to be faster than Moose, but we don't know how good he is until he plays??, maybe the preseason will sort him out if he stays??

If Robinson looks capable then it could be sell Joc for 35 + and reinvest that to strengthen the whole of the team?
We’ve drawn one from four games since JOC was replaced by Robinson.

I accept it’s not that simple, but let’s not chuck the baby out with the bath water.

As Berge and McBurnie have demonstrated, £35m isn’t necessarily going to improve anything.

Wilder is also good at throwing other clubs and agents off the scent

Though the fans then let everyone know that JOC and Fleck are injured o_O

Wilder is a smart manager and utilises his abilities to progress the club, then the fans do their best to undo his work.

'We deserve to know the truth' which is why these fans will never be managers.

That for me will be critical in the next 12 months whether its new backers or improved sponsorship. The Prince will need to step up in creating new revenue streams as we can't afford to stand still relying on EPL TV money only whilst we are losing revenue through the lack of season tickets and match day income.

Stopping up next season is absolutely vital if we want to progress.

Its basically season 1 again at this level not season 2.
