Unfortunatley I wasn't able to make the match last night and wondered from those who went how Kyle Bartley looked?

Apologies if this has been covered elsewhere.

I think the game was a little physical for him at times. He got caught shirt pulling more than once to try and make up for his lack of strength when the attacker was up against him.

His positioning seemed reasonable though but not sure how he'll cope with people running at him, as much of Preston's attacks came down the wings yesterday.

I wouldn't worry. It was his first professional league game and championship football can be a culture shock to players who are at big four clubs.

I saw him for Arsenal against Olympiakos in the CL and he has some phenomenal attributes so he will do fine. Once he gets some understanding with Nosworthy he will settle.

It shouldnt be too physical for him either, he's 6"3" and very athletic. He will toughen up. Thats why Wenger has sent him here.

It's also worth considering that he hadn't trained with the other players in the back 4.

I also think it is a big factor that Morgan wasn't playing alongside him. Morgans a talker and looks after young players who come in (killa, Davies etc). He just takes charge and as I didn't see the game yesterday I don't know if Nyron did the same being new to the club I wouldn't of thought so.

For me he had a good game.
Bit shakey at times but generally read the game well. Encouraged the other player and put some good tackles in.
He knew when the lines needed clearing and to push out with it.
Think he tired late on, but with the recent defensive performances he looks a good player and better than anything we have.

actually has a strong resemblance to Kyle Walker. seems quite quick and reads the game well, but does try too much sometimes and may be caught out. This was rarely a problem for Walker at right back, but does worry me with Bartley in the centre. (especially with nosworthy at the side of him, who does more cruyff turns than any player, EVER!)
