Kruk and Mcdonald

An interesting comment in DW's post-match interview on BladesPlayer on whether we'll sign them:

"[Kruk, McDonald and Duke] have done well, and have done well in the last two weeks, they've fitted in well and integrated with the rest of the group. I have to say that maybe that's not a priority for us at the moment in time - particularly when you see today the chances we missed, maybe it's a goalscorer. So I'd love to bring them in. But if it impinges on bringing in the main person that I would like, we'll have to put it on hold for a bit. Who knows - we might be lucky."

So signing all three (or any?) seems dependent on more outgoings.

Kruk is a must based on today. McDonald on a short term 'prove your attitude is right' deal I'd be happy at. Duke, why bother when we have Simmo? If we're keeping SS, then Duke isn't needed. Long needs to be the #2.

I read that as he has one big signing in the pipeline but if it falls through he'll sign these three instead.

I didn't see anything special from mcdonald.
He had a couple of shots which were off target and got caught on the ball once which nearly resulted in a chance on goal.
Apart from that he looked very ordinary and not much better than what we already have.
I don't think we need him.

Quin was the main playmaker today creating chances from midfield in the 1st half and from the left wing with his crosses in the 2nd half, although he did not get into the game enough on the wing.

I think regardless of the mystery other deal, Kruk will sign. DW looks like he wants to play Lecs in the middle, and bringing in Kruk gives him the flexibility to do that. Otherwise we're relying on Kozzie, not a natural left-back, to cover.

KM could do a lot worse than fund the move for these two, even if it is additional to the forward.

Dont think he will mind, even those he knows there will be bids for some of our highier earners either in the next month or Jan.

To not sign these two inorder to bring in BT would be madness.

even more bizarre when this is going on at the same time Kozzy is getting a new deal.

kozzy will more than likley be paying to stay with us or as good as i can't see him been on much
plus he is good to have around the club for moral.

i would think Duke and Kruk should be signed where as do we need another midfielder as neither Quinn Willo or Monty have left yet

I imagine that was what DW meant on having to think about priorities. I'm struggling to work out what our best midfield is even without McDonald coming into the mix. At the minute I'd like to see Flynn, D-Mac, Quinn, Tonne.

We are short on another experienced keeper, and if DW wants to play Lecs in the middle we would need to bring in another natural left-back like Kruk - which is why I would imagine both will imminently sign.

I thought francois was our best player yesterday mcdonald looked calm and played the ball about nicely. our style of play was pass and move and we built from the back, when monty and doyle were in the middle that died and it was rushed with punts for slew all the time. doyle tried 1 killer ball that came off and monty, well the less said about him the better.

if we can sign mcdonald and play him and willo in the middle with flynn and quinn on the wings then id fancy that midfield to boss most sides in league 1.

Quin has to play in the middle
he was the one that made things happen yesterday

he was the main man in the second half, due to the fact the other 2 in the middle did nothing, quinns crossing and overall play in the 1st half was terrible, he gave the ball away so much.

the wors player for me was boggy, i think other than running back to get the ball once he did bugger all else. awful player.
