Two fellow blades have now told me that we are making improvements to the Kop during the summer.
I'm aware of the development in the cherry street/shoreham corner that has recently got the go ahead but don't know when it starts.
I'm also aware that we have plans to redevelop the Kop at some point. Is it happening this summer?

They're just painting the kip supports green so the lucky folk sat behind them this year can enjoy a change of scenery!!

Started this today

Paid for in Euros I take it ;)

If we ever get back to the top tier, rather than waste money on a set of over paid primadonnas, who most of us have never heard of and are only marginally better than the players who will have taken us up, knock down the current Kop and build a top of the range replacement, an icon structure that stands out and holds about 20k ... and one with some bloody leg room.

Nah they are putting solar panels on the roof McCabe can't afford the leccy bill.

When we say relaying the Desso, what does it mean? All the funky fake fibres an't lot?

Or just some sand and seed and stuff?

I dont get it.

No the plastic fibres are apparently staying, its the subsurface and reseeding etc, which surprises me as the pitch looks amazing still after a long season.

My thoughts too. I hope they've checked out what they're doing with the Lawnsmith first :)
Yeah not sure who said it exactly but it was someone from the club said about it at Chesterfield game in the Platinum suite

If you read about desso pitches they are cleared and RE- ceded every year this is standard practice ,which is surprising but true

I think the club (and with what has happened in the last couple of years I guess that is their plan too) should be aiming to have one or two big events every year on the Lane pitch in the post season before the pitch is receded. Since the closure of DVS there is a gaping hole in Sheffield for big outdoor shows (usually concerts), the Lane could fill that gap, make money out of it and get Bramall Lane/SUFC national exposure.

Colleague had two sons playing in the game at Lane on Sunday. Said pitch bare in places.

Reminded him of the boxing event. He said that since the season had finished 21 games have been played on the pitch. A club official told him.

Maximising revenue and opportunity for fans games and other cup finals. Excellent idea if, as they are, they then sort in time for new season.

Not sure you meant that...
