Aye well, when I say 'earth' super pig, I don't suppose it was the finest tilth, it probably is like a pit-tip under there, mind you I do remember the smell of wild garlic that grew next to the steps down to John Street in the 1980s. respect to your Great Granddad !

Those of us that still support the club would rather it stay put, thanks.

You dont speak for all of us though. DVS all day long for me given the actions of our Landlord Kevin Van Hoogenstraten

The Hotel doesn't need to be connected physically to the stadium. Had it been built at the Street Corner there would be an easier circulation around the ground, (say from ticket office to South Stand Entrance). As it is, crammed up to the corner of the stands, it inhibits expansion (were it really ever needed) witness the 'World Cup Bid' plans for a second tier above the South Stand which is cut short because of the presence of the Hotel. Bad forward planning by incompetent (badly briefed?) architects.

I do like Kevin McCabe personally, but I don't like the way it feels like the start of a dynasty. Its seems that the first born son is being given chunks of land to go and have a go at developing with. I don't pretend to understand the ownership situation, I haven't really looked at it, but piecemeal development (like the hotel and the offices in the corner) is NOT the way to develop the site as a football stadium, there is no apparent strategy. For instance the corner of the stadium on John Street next to the Kop, is useless, who the heck thinks seats with a view of half the pitch are viable? yet someone didn't see it coming...... No strategy or masterplan you see......
