Currie disappeared for the odd game ,Macdonald disappears for the odd season.

It does seem odd that after destroying Notts C (even when they had 11 men on the pitch) as soon as Kmac left, we turned into 11 dickheads.

O
Absolute bollocks. He played against Burton and we/him were appalling.

Ok, but you really need to look at our stats from the 90 point season. I can't remember exactly (hopefully someone can find them) but when KMac played, our win percentage was up around 70%. Without him it was roughly 20% (not exact figures ofcourse).
Remember that match he limped off before the game at hillsborough? I seem to remember us winning one out of the six in that period he was injured, this in a season where the team accumulated 90 points!

And this seasons league figures - 100% win ratio with him, 0% without him. A hugely underrated player and is being proven with each game.

Prior to the Preston game where McDonald went off injured, we played 9 league games without him. We won 5 of those, drew 2 and lost 2. That is a 55.5% win ratio. We also won 4 cup matches (one on penalties) and lost (one on penalties). Total win ratio 60%.

Up to the Preston game when McDonald played in the league we played 20 games. We won 13, drew 3, lost 4. Win ratio 65%. We also won 2 cup games and lost 2. Total win ratio 62.5%.

And in that Preston game we won the match after he went off.

This season his win ratio is 50%. He played against Burton.

McDonald was the latest in a long line of what I'd call proper footballers we've got rid of in recent years. And by "proper footbellers" I mean they can do things on the pitch that I couldn't do and therefore I'd happily pay to watch them. The current crop (not seen Baxter or Cuvelier yet) are a mixture of triers, kids and players of limited ability. I was absolutely gutted when we sold McDonald (as I was when we got rid of Tonge, Jags, Brown, Quinn, Lowton and Williamson to name a few) but the guy couldn't tackle, shoot, head, had no pace and struggled with his left foot and he was still the best we had!

People on this thread making out we don't miss Kmac need to be sectioned.

Hes gone move on
Abso-bloody-lutly

Its no good looking at what might have been, when he is replaced by a midfield maestro, and no doubt he will be , it will then be his turn to think..........................Shit I should have stayed.

As do those who think he's in any way comparable to Tony Currie.

Not many people are saying we don't miss him or that he wasn't a skilful and influential player. But he is not Tony Currie and it just might be conceivable that he is replaceable.

He wasn't bad, but he only compares to Currie in having the same basic physical attributes - two arms, two legs, a head with all appropriate bits, and that kind of thing. But TC now would probably still show KMac a thing or 10.

Well looks like he has wound up us Blades fans on instagram.

Not sure he thinks much of us since leaving us then? or have most us misread his response to Maguire?

At first, I thought that picture was a close-up of my outside granite work surface.

What was that picture taken on? A f***ing calculator?

Think It has been blurred outon purpose to highlight the kevin mcdonald comment

Was a wind up... Harry replied after all the 11 year old blade fans found how to type the word "fuck" on their phone and said Kmac always asks about the blades and wants us to do well etc etc

I stand by my OP! I wonder if a few on here would change their comments after watching him play today and seeing him nominated for League 1 player of the season. A true talent unappreciated in his time at Bramall Lane.

unappreciated ?? by who

"Macdonald disappears for the odd season" is a comment which stands out by your good self Sitwell. Don;'t think Wolves fans, or the football league have seen it this way in 2013/14!

Might be talented but if he was that good he'd be playing much higher than L1. Chased the £££'s and will never be loyal, glad to be rid if it means we can nurture players who want to be at BDTBL.

He moved to wolves because he believed He had more chance of promotion. Who can say he was wrong to do so? The guy made us tick, the stats back that up with overwhelming certainty. He started every game in the prem until he fell out with Laws, yet some thought he was ineffective in league 1. It's a shame that he wasn't appreciated for what he is IMO.

There could have been all sorts of reasons for leaving us - maybe he could foresee the debacle that was going to unfold with DW2.......but if he was simply chasing Championship football why didn't he sign for one of the Championship clubs queuing up to sign him? Oh yes, it's because there weren't any.......or they weren't offering as much wonga as Wolves?

I'm not sure that's particularly relevant. The point in my OP is that we are not even half the team we were last season due to losing him as the primary reason. He said he left for Wolves to improve chances of promotion. I think the evidence has proven us both correct thus far!

As well as the money I suspect he divided a slightly more ambitious set up at the time. As a player I imagine a change of management is unsettling, perhaps the vibes from Molyneux were a bit more positive. Hopefully, with the arrival of Abdullah and Nigel we are better able to keep the present squad together

Yes, a change in management is airways unsettling no matter what business you're in - and the mess we made of finding a new manager in the summer can hardly have filled him with confidence. At the fans forum, Mitch Ward (having played with DW2 at Everton) seemed to know that it wouldn't work out and I'm sure others in the football world would have been advising KMc.
