I can't be arsed to read through this entire thread by page nine it is clear to me Danny04 is shit stirring to get clicks on employers website, it all reminds me of the thread and poll not so long back asking if we should ban The Stir from Bramall lane. I voted YES ban them at the time and see no reason to change that view, also please someone keep McCabe away from any reporters ( I use that term loosely) because his musings do more damage to SUFC than enough.

Has the Pig academy ever produced a player that has gone on to play in the Premier League? Genuine question cause I've no idea. I was wondering earlier how many we've had compared to them.

Also, what's the biggest fee the Pigs have ever sold a player for?

If DCL & Rammers hadn't gone, Long would have been No1 and EEL would not have come in. I would say that Moore and EEL massively helped get us up, more than the two youngsters would? I'd love us to keep all the potential but long term was sacrificed for a brilliant short term!!

I have never said we should sell Brooks - he's a totally different proposition that is more than good enough to play now!!
 
Hence why I'm not getting excited over him, he will be off as soon as he gets a first team spot.
 
I don't see how this is helpful for McCabe to say. Just adds uncertainty, there's enough of that from the media who it seems like everytime one of our players or manager is mentioned they add "_______ target" to the beginning.

Brooks is probably worth a good few million in this transfer window if he keeps on at the pace he's going, but we're in the Championship now, where £10mil is not that far out of the ordinary. It's not like we're sitting in the National League with Gareth Bale, he's probably at the right level for at least a season or two, still has some rough edges that a couple of seasons in the first team with regular games will help with.

If we sold him to someone he'd probably be cup and sub, or out on loan back to the Championship, so why not have some backbone and keep him, instead of dropping trou and dutifully bending over for a team a division up. He's got a contract, we don't owe him to anyone as long as he's happy at the Lane and we're in a good league.

And when the player tells you he wants to leave and wont sign a new contract you lose a valuable asset for nothing at the end of their deal.

You can't keep players who want to leave, its basically throwing money away.

Dead right - much smaller clubs than us have told bigger clubs to fuck off and much bigger players than Brooks have been told they ain't going nowhere so they best just accept it and get on with it.

Try David de Gea for starters who was desperate to join Real Madrid but, when he realised that was not going to happen, has been massive for manure.

And as bonus parents of kids looking at our academy will be saying "don't go there son, they'll block your progress"

Believe it or not getting the best academy kids is very competitive in itself, just being Sheff United isn't enough on it's own.
 
Oh McCabe, stop saying stupid things! First it was the 'lucky boy' comment, now it's 'if the big dogs come knocking...'. How long is left on Brooks' contract? If it's more than a year then we'd be stupid to sell him, when this time next year his value could be increased by millions if he has a good season. As for McCabes question, you say 'Sorry, you're under contract here and we have you in our plans for the coming season', it's pretty fricking simple...other clubs can't take him away from us unless you sell him! Do we really need that 1m we'll probably get for him? We've already recevied a shed load of sell on fees this summer and been promoted...I really don't see the logic for selling him unless it's for silly money (£10m).
 

Isn't there anyone at the club who can advise KM to stop giving interviews? How often do you hear from Abramovich? Or John Henry? Owners who have a high profile in the media are small time, like Darragh MacAnthony. We're back in the big time now, we should act like it.
