Colin Murray is great. Loved listening to his mid morning TalkSport show before he quit. Fighting Talk on the Beeb is great. A true sports fan who’s not afraid to show some passion and can completely relate to the fans as he is so obviously one himself (of many sports).

About time one of the channels got it right. They do a good job of the cricket too.

The look on his face when Keef guessed what the £5 acca would be worth and was within £3 was priceless.
yeah i was howling at that.. i'm really pleased for Murray he's a great presenter
as for the highlights i thought we looked a decent footballing outfit compared to some of the others

Yeah - he has been really good to be fair. Coming across as very knowledgeable too.

Though the presenter joking about Keith knowing all about gambling wasn't in the best taste given his history tho tbf
They're really good mates

Thought that they were saying some really good stuff about us and Murray has a soft spot for us defo. The gambling stuff was funny

I just bought his book on the basis on comments on here.

There seems to be a lot of use of the f word, particularly when the name 'Blackwell' is also on the page

How nice to see Keef looking healthy and, or so it seems, relatively happy. He was one of those former players who I always kind of feared for a bit.

Funny that he guessed the Ipswich accumulator payout so incredibly accurately given his gambling history.

He was good generally, had a load of stats and plenty of knowledge too.

The other highlight of the show was seeing Assombalonga miss 3 sitters.... against Forest. And then have one ruled out for offside. That's what £15m gets you in the Championship.

This came through the door with the rest of the junk mail:

Desperate times I guess?

For the chef, yeah.

That 'Italian' dish looks suspiciously like a chicken madras.

I don't know this establishment, but the menu only listed pizza and various Italian dishes (the dish next to Keith is spaghetti) so would suggest it isn't a madras, unless they've used a shite advertising and marketing company!

Tight arses cutting corners. They should have shelled out & got a professional fast food photographer in.

Have a read of his book, very honest about his time at the Blades and relationship (or non relationship)with Blackwell.

I never realised he played more games for us than any of his other clubs.

If we can trust Wikipedia, he appeared to play most for Blackburn (115) and Newcastle (113). We're in 3rd at 97 appearances, although i doubt he only made 9 appearances for Man Utd - really ???

Oh that's annoying, its a highlights reel of 2006 goal of the month contenders with a BBC article about the decline in long-shots

That era was peak Premier League wasn't it, in terms of the players and matches themselves? It could obviously just be because it was probably the era that I watched most as I was a teenager/early twenties, but I genuinely believe it's gone downhill as a form of entertainment since then.

I never know whether it's just the result of getting older, or whether top level football has got much more boring now than 10/20/30 years ago. If I watch a premier league game now, unless I have an emotional connection to it, I pretty much always find it dull even if it's the top teams playing. Whereas when I was younger, I would watch pretty much all the football I could, regardless of quality or the teams that were playing.

So much of what drew me to football in the first place has gone, crunching tackles, wingers who could beat a man and cross a ball, big centre forwards who were great in the air, the clash of styles between physical teams and technical teams. No-one dreams as a kid about playing out from the back and keeping possession at all costs do they? They dream of beating 3 men and smacking it in the top corner from 30 yards.

It's exactly the same for me. The atmosphere at every game just isn't there any more either. A big reason for that is because of the lack of tempo and all the other things you mention.

There's also the VAR aspect, but that's a whole other conversation.
