Keith Edwards on RS - Time for change?

Occasionally he will hark back to his day - and that can get a bit tiring. And occasionally he'll go off at a tangent and talk about something else, like the pie he's just had, or the journey to the game. And that's a bit distracting when you just want to know who's kicking the bloody ball and what's happening on the pitch.

That's the problem I find. I don't mind if there's a break in play but it happens a lot more than that and it does put me off, particularly in a game I'm on edge about when I just want to know what's actually happening in the sodding game.

That said it's the job of the commentator to interrupt the pundit when things are happening in the game and they don't seem to do that very often.

one thing that did get on my tits on Saturday was that on a couple of occasions he said "The result isn't important to me, the performance is what counts" hold on Eddy, WTF? so if we played Barcelona style football every week, and finished bottom with 0 points, you'd be happy?

But he's absolutely right. Get the performance right and the results WILL COME. The odd game it will go tits but the general rule always applies.
The old saying is that a sign of a good team is that it wins whilst playing "not playing well", what some people seem to get confused about (especially when we had Hoofy Blackwell in charge) is that the good teams don't play "not very well" most weeks. Their performance is constantly good and they can overcome the odd poor performance, which is something we haven't managed much.

Yeah this was one of them.... yeah perhaps he should've put the ball in, but he didn't, it didn't seem right for him. However, the point is that he didn't... for whatever reason, Keith makes such a big issue about one thing... He doesn't look at the entire game, the way that Ipswich were making it difficult, just saw the Keith Edwards view.... because thats the ball he wanted....which is my point.
No, its the ball 99.9% of us wanted. He is right in his assessment that we tend to over play.
Whilst his overall play missed something, at least Lee Evans was prepared to shoot and he scored a few for the time he was in our team.
As someone said on another thread. We out play most teams and it is the lack of end product that is letting us down. That is what is frustrating to KE and many of us. He does also give a what I believe is a fair assessment of how the opposition play.

Yeah of course 99.9% of us wanted the ball to go in, but it didn't. Like i said, Keith needs to get over it and then try and give some expertise if something is not happening, then what about acknowledging the reasons why...

"The result isn't important to me, the performance is what counts"

Is that not what the Fulham fans are saying having reached 'the promised land' and only witnessed 2 wins out of 18 ?

That's where we deserve to be ?
