This will be Wilder speaking to Danny to pressure on the board again.

Going to be a long summer of this shit.
Probably won’t be any chance of getting Phillips if Pep leaves this summer. At best it will be right at the end of the transfer window after a new manager has had chance to assess him. Plus any new manager at City may actually want Phillips around their squad.

How could you possibly know this was Wilders decision?
I'd say between him, the board and the player, that Chris is probably the least happy with the release. He brought him in, praised the difference he'd made, pursued an extension, then recently said how much stronger he'd be after a preseason..
Maybe because he’s the manager?

So the usually clown logic from Danny Hall and if this happens Wilder and the board are worse.... We have shifted out a £25k a week midfielder in Jairo and we are looking to replace him with someone that is on £150k a week at his parent club. For that to work City will have to be paying at least £125K a week and then that would us be breaking even as a like for like swap of Riedewald to Phillips so in theory with us still not under the ratio we would need City to be paying more of the wages if no other transfer sales. You have to start thinking even though City have literally cash to burn where is the incentive to send a player out to another club in the last year of the contract and pay more than 3/4s of his wage. Hall then mentions "United now only have Sydie Peck, Oliver Arblaster and Joe Rothwell as their under-contract midfielders for next season" depending on the formation we are looking for (not forgetting Billy Blacker might be involved in preseason too to add to that list) if we kept hold of those 3 plus adding the likes of Blacker into the mix do we actually need Phillips, if the answer is we need more depth, we could look at adding a loan in there but a younger player such as Toby Collyer (not saying has to be him) but if you reduce the wage bill by getting rid of Jairo you can only refill so much of that, players of that mold attract salaries of £5-10k a week which is achievable. Not £20k+

LBA if you think we can compete with Blaster, Peck, Rothwell, Blacker and a young loanee next season I think you are sadly mistaken.

CW has said numerous times he wants Phillips back so loaning him will be CWs first choice. Whether the board sanction this or not I dont know but we have cleared Jairo, Davies, Ings and Mees wages off tthe books. I personally would only want him if we can get him for the same money as this year and id want some cause about whay happens to his wages if hes unavailable to play.

It's great that CW wants Phillips and fully fit Phillips would be a great signing. However......this isn't feasible unless Man City are very generous and Phillips and his agent are also very generous. Does Phillips have his heart set on coming here more than the money he "could" earn elsewhere. I'm not expecting him back in a Blades shirt unless a lot of things fall our way. That rarely happens. So unless the deal is great for the club......move on.

Danny’s summary makes no sense whatsoever.

Under almost every circumstance Phillips will be on more money than Riedewald who didn’t have a club when we signed him.

Not sure how this cleverly frees up the balance sheet even if you favour the move.

If he’s fit then it will have a lot swallowing humble pie but he’s not given us much to encourage that thought.

Yes he does have his heart set on it. Needs to be same deal agreed with Man City though to make it happen. Let’s see I’m expecting him here next season

Happy to be quoted directly, but apart from the 2 and a bit games Phillips was involved with last season other than Jairo we didn't have anyone else that mentioned that made up the squad. Tom Davies for his short spell but put that against missing Blaster and him still recovering from injury that is where we were at. At no point did I say we can compete but we have to look at what does competing look like for us now as it certainly isn't top 2 anymore. Also on the flip side to that Jairo, Davies, Ings and Mees wages only clears £4.1 million +bonuses off the books it still leaves our wage bill at circa £24mill.

Semantics, Pep is off and Philips will be int first team come the summer

Hearing Danny Rohl is lined up to replace Pep

So in this bizarre game of fantasy football where does that leave us with Kyle Walker? 🤔
Its crackers mate.

When people aren't taking the piss out of S6 for wanting Bazza and Vardy they're wanting Kyle Walker and Billy as Player coach 🙄.

Its going to be a very long summer .
