Where? This is where Wilder really lets himself down.
Not when fans like you make every outcome about itPrefer Phillips as he's from Yorkshire and 'gets the club', rather than foreign muck like Riedewald... We'll never shake Brexit Blades under Wilder.
He’s not fully fit.A fully fit Phillips is top signing for us .Only paying a small portion of his wage whats not to like get him in
A fully fit Phillips is a top signing for a PL side who will pay a large portion of his wages.A fully fit Phillips is top signing for us .Only paying a small portion of his wage whats not to like get him in
I suppose it helped they had both arrived off the back of multiple full seasons, not fewer than 50 games across 4 or 5 seasons.Gordon Cowans and Stuart McCall were much older than Philips ,2 of the finest midfielders to play for us.
When he lets players like Jairo leave to persue a project that is never gonna be beneficial for usWhere?
You are always saying "We are making the wrong decisions" over and over again!I can't get my head around the decision on any level. His loan spell was the best advert for not signing him.
Poor fitness, poor discipline and never really showed flashes of being anything more than an OK footballer for the level.
He ruined our chance to do something memorable against Wednesday too.
I stand by the assertion that Riedewald is a better player and he'll have been on 50% of what we were paying Phillips (and probably 10% of what KP earns).
He’s not wrong on this one though is he.You are always saying "We are making the wrong decisions" over and over again!![]()
We cannot sign anyone until 15th June. He’s not wrong on this one though is he.
He’s not fully fit.
He won’t ever be fully fit.
We don’t know what the wage situation is, if he’s paid up he’ll be wanting 40K minimum.
You realise this is the rumours thread, yeah?We cannot sign anyone until 15th June.
Who has said we are going to sign Phillips?
I liked Jairo but he hasnt played one game for 90 minutes for us so signing him would be a big risk as we no longer have parachute payments.
How is the SCR going to affect us?
We dont know our transfer budget for the summer.
Doesn't really help the point I'm trying to make in a positive way re: Phillips... but it could quite easily have been 6 or 7 if he'd stayed on the pitch. We could’ve realistically won that game by four or five considering how many chances we missed.
For the first 30 minutes. The last 15 minutes of the half was spent knocking the ball around in our own half until we got boxed in, and passed back to Cooper, who would belt it long. We'd win it back, and knock it around in our own half, etc.Doesn't really help the point I'm trying to make in a positive way re: Phillips... but it could quite easily have been 6 or 7 if he'd stayed on the pitch.
The first half at BL in my opinion was better than we played in the entirety at Hillsborough
If we're doing small samples, I thought Phillips turned the game when he came on against Boro as they were no longer able to bully our midfield.Take the two Wednesday games this season, Jairo in one and Phillips in the other.
At Hillsborough, Jairo nullified their midfield, broke up the play and it therefore allowed us to create chance after chance. We could’ve realistically won that game by four or five considering how many chances we missed.
At BL we’re on top through Hamer / Bamford being clinical. A second through Burrows and we’re coasting. Then Phillips gets sent off early into the second half needlessly and we’re under the cosh. A better team would’ve capitalised, Wednesday nearly did.
It’s a small sample size of course but you could see the effect of both players respectively, and while Jairo had fitness issues he still brought a level of calm to midfield that allowed our more ball playing, creative players to advance up the pitch. I didn’t see that with KP, generally he looked ok but as a loan signing he didn’t stand out.
If we’re seriously going down this route then I’m more concerned than excited.
How could you possibly know this was Wilders decision? When he lets players like Jairo leave to persue a project that is never gonna be beneficial for us
I’ve said this for a while. Even putting aside his fitness issues he only contributes to one half of the game. He’s great at breaking up play and positionally quite smart but he contributes absolutely nothing when we have the ball. When the other midfielder drops deep to find space Jairo will stand their next to him shuffling the ball side to side.Is it just me that thinks Jairo wasn't actually that good, and is not really that bothered he's not been offered a deal.
