You Sir are a complete arse.

Where do I give any indication as to how a business should be run?

All I have done is point out the realities of the financial markets.

It is the primary responsibility of the business owners to carry the risk because they are the ones that stand to make the greatest rewards.

If Mr McCabe does not wish to invest more then that is his perogative.

If you don't like it all you have to do is buy the business and then you can spend as much as you like.

If McCabe wud sell at 8p a share i just might ! ............

oh risk taking,responsibility, greatest rewards

:D Sir Fred ................ i rest my case !

Beighton spouts this drivel on another forum, 3 games gone and he's extrapilating that over a season! really depresses me that people like him bother to support our team.
constructive criticism is fine, following your own self important little agendas is tiresome and boring.
his messages boil down to "I want all the best players playing all the best football winning all the games and I want it NOW!!!"
everything thats wrong with the modern football fan

drivel to you maybee ! ......... but i have an opinion and i'm entitled to it.
Your interpritation of my opinion is way off the mark.

It would help me understand your posts better if I was clearer about your overall opinions. How would you "boil down your message" if you think Fatpat is way off mark?

Well without reffering to Fatpat i wud say the Blades have little or no ambition a manager who is incompetant and a chairman who if he put as much emphasis into the Blades on field activities as off wud probably have us in Europe within his stipulated time frame.

Cheers - don't agree with a word of it - but cheers nonetheless :D:D:D

And i'd still buy you a pint cos it aint worth falling out over either

Its all well and good saying that Beighton, but it really doesn't stand up.

Ambition - We've spent again in the transfer window. We may have got money in, but we didn't need to spend it on Evans and the others, did we? If we really didn't have ambition then we'd have trousered it and bought no-one.

Incompetent Manager - You might not like him personally, or how he sets up the team to play, but he's far from incompetent. I'd like us to play nice attractive football, but that isn't the offering. Interesting that he currently has the best points per game record of any Blades manager in living memory. Not pretty football, but pretty effective nonetheless.

The old chestnut about McCabe - Kevin McCabe has many outside business interests. He is not a 'full-time' chairman with a desk at Bramall Lane, but he is closely involved on a day to day basis. He has supported the club with cash, certainly more than £10m of his own money, and the ventures that he has built around the club provide a lot more profit to the plc than they cost, £2m a year to be precise.

So, what else do you have..?

Which is a loan, not a gift. That's not to knock it, either. But should we also be putting the bank that gave us the mortgage for the hotel on a pedestal?

Let's not forget that he's getting interest on that loan, either.

It's far too early to tell how we'll do this season given that there have been several changes made from last year's team. What I have seen is that we have enough to be in and around the play-offs, but could probably do with something more to take us up automatically. What that "something more" is I'm not sure. Could it be Williamson or Hendrie running the midfield? Could it be a new signing? We'll have to see.

As I've said in another thread, I think that last season's team would have lost that game last night, a la Donny at home, but we stuck at it and ground out a result with sheer determination. Leicester are no mugs.

Fools and money ....... how many gud uns have we bought ?

I can only say hooooofball and no plan B.
and does cheap as chips identify the transfer targets, or is that our terry ?

McCabes investment in the Blades is well covered, when he goes he will leave with more than he's put in. As for not being full time i agree but that leads to the question why is 'our terry' in charge ?

Will i last the season ? :D

Was that the £10 million he charged the high interest rate on ?

My understanding is a lot of the money has gone in as capital, not loans. It increases his stake in the club, and is not to be paid back. If you have any more info on loans and the terms they are made on, then post it. I'd be interested.

BTW, I'm not putting Kev McCabe 'on a pedestal'. He has show himself to have fallibilites the same as all of us, but I certainly am showing some respect to the best chairman we've had in my lifetime by some distance. I take it you're not old enough to know about Woolhouse, Hinchcliffe and Hashimi?

3% high?
i think it is actually illegal to loan money from one business to another and not do that

the loan was paid back within a year to eighteen months so how much money could SCARBOROUGH PROPERTY GROUP have made from that deal then and would you prefer that sufc didnt lend money from mccabes companys

why are you such a shitstirring peabrain ?

3% over base .......... i borrowed from the same bank the Bank of Scotland at 1% over base on a 10 year commercial property term loan..... so yes 3% is high.
If McCabe is going to charge over the odds then yes i would prefer the Blades to deal direct with the bank.

well Beighton, forgive me if I misunderstand but your explanation of your position does seem to absolutely confirm my suspicions regarding your attitude as being more more more now now now.
Lets hear some constructive options other than telling McCabe to spend more of his money, I have views about blackie etc but I'm also realistic enough to understand where we are, this "we shud (sic) be beating teams like leicester" "5 points from 3 games isn't enough " Watford are rubbish (ask forest)
anyone can moan constantly, being realistic and constructive takes longer and more thought

Don't give me this more more more now rubbish ...... i've been a Blade more years than i care to remember ..... back to the days of Mick Jones and Co.

Constructive options.

1. Get rid of cheap as chips
2. Get rid of our terry
3. Replace 1 and 2 above with 'proper management' the foundation of any good business.
4. Paddy's replacement shud have been bought yonks ago.
5. Quality attracts quality ..... stop sellin it.

just a few for yer !

Can we please stay away from chucking insults at each other? That's not how we do things on here.

Whether you agree with Beighton's opinion or not (I usually don't :D), there's no need to resort to name calling.

Also note that a number of Beighton's posts contain content that is more tongue in cheek or on the wind up :)

just like tonge you mean who finished training an had a car waiting for him and being told were flogging you to stoke cars there? If a club tells you your off your off i'd go if i felt the club wanted to sell me
Sorry been offline for a while.

Why was his agent going round Premiership clubs if he didn't want to go?

Now I know its popular to attack Turry but this is the guy who negotiated the Kyles transfer. How can you criticise that piece of business?

1.) Who would you put into the job (bearing in mind you would have to pay Blackie off)
2.) Who would you replace him with.
4.) Who should we of bought, bearing in mind we have no idea how long he is going to be out for. You could end up with two high earning goalkeepers.
5.) So you wouldn't of given the manager anything for transfers after last season? If you would, where would the money come from?

Its clear we don't agree ....... for me Blackie was the cheap as chips option and his appointment was a mistake. Our terry was given the heave ho by McCabe then for sum unknown reason stayed put... another mistake ... it might be me but my opinion is the transfer dealings at BDTBL on the whole are a shambles with no clear intention or ambition.

I am sorry to paint a bleak picture about the Blades but it is my honest opinion.

With the right management team and backing the Blades have the potential to be a 'top half' Premiership team with BDTBL full every match (even the new un ) the catchment area for new Blades being well populated and without competition.

"Piece of business" is a good description. Another comes from Robinson - "a good deal for the club". That may be so, but it wasn't a good deal for:

1. the team, which is weaker;

2. the supporters, who saw our best player sold for the 3rd time in 2 years;

3. the future, because we sold our best player's ready made replacement and got him back on a single year HP only.

The Beattie deal was worse, but this transfer is in no way unimpeachable.

wow Beighton
your constructive criticism/problem solving seems to be sack people and buy new players without selling any, which boils down to more more more now now now, and please please don't trying the bigger blade rubbish, just cuz you're old (like me) doesn't stop the short sighted want it all attitude, in fact judging by a lot of people on the Kop its the over 40's who are worse than any other age group. you still haven't made a single constructive contribution to this thread

It's a matter of expectations - please explain why Burnley, Stoke, Bolton, Portsmouth, Hull City, Birmingham, Wigan, are currently playing in the Premier League whilst United spend the majority of their time in the top half of the Championship with only one season in the Premier League in the last twelve. Most supporters want to see premier football in Englands 4th/5th biggest city. When you consider we are playing at the same level as Scunthorpe, Barnsley, Doncaster, Peterborough, Plymouth, Blackpool, etcperhaps some ambition is not wrong!!!

In the last 16 seasons!
