You have to spend money to make money?
What solid economic theory is that piece of advice based on?
We've spent plenty of money since we were relegated.
And as a banker I've sen many businesses fail through overcommiting themselves on the basis of speculative cash flow
You answer you're own questions as you argue, BB has mentioned scouting.....There are hidden gems, and yes we seem to buy cheap as chips, as BB has stated.....it's like panic buying. We have quality within our team, but we sell that quality to make money.
I understand we have to sell blah blah blah, but if we have this ambition that Mccabe says we have, why not spend that little extra to keep people. Or find replacements of their calabre.....are you really suggesting a 3 mil player like Ched is on less that Naughton?
I hardly know anything, but I can see where BB is coming from.
Yep an i've seen many companies go bust through lack of investment .........oh that along with how banks operate !
You have to spend money to make money, we don't seem to ever want to do that. Hence the cheap as chips comment. BB makes good valid points. I don't agree with everything, but the basis on what he says it's about right.
Whats the point in spending 4 mill on one quality player, when the rest can't play up to his standards, that player ends up playing down a level to fit into the team.
Hidden gems ? ................... whats the point we just sell em !
Even little owd Swansea have told the vultures to f cuk off !
If only McCabe wud make the same commitment on the field as off !
If a business owner will not, or can not invest in a business, why should a bank?
Banks are there to take a share of the risk. That share varies with the economic climate and the state of the competition for business at any given time.
So you are suggesting that MrMcabe puts more investment in because the banks certainly won't at the moment?
Maybe you should open your piggy bank and call him with your contribution too?
I ask, so his extra goals wouldn't have got us up in 2nd spot ??? Quite obviously answer is YES
sorry one thing i know he got goals when we needed them and i look at pigs and donny at home, and Burnley away we needed a goal and he would of got them. The man was a goal machine and didn't want to leave. He even went to the team hotel for the Preston playoff gameWithout checking, I think we failed to win more games WITH Beattie in the team last season than after he left. There's no way you can hand on heart say 100% that we would have gone up had he stayed.

look at his goal record for us it speaks for itself yes am quoting games we lost because they stand out where we missed him i remember a cracking free kick to make a certain game 2-2 in his first seasonOh yeah, it's easy to quote games where we lost points and say he would have made a difference but what about the dozen plus games he failed to score in when he was with us last season ? What about the amount of goals he scored from open play ?
Great striker, yes, would he have guaranteed us promotion had he stayed, no way.

A banker giving lectures on how a business shud be run !
That takes the biscuit !
Not entirely true, McCabe stated that Beattie was sold because his agent wanted to sign a new deal which would make him the best paid player in the division. When we said we wouldn't talk until the end of the season they touted him round Premiership clubs until they got interest from Stoke.Ok coming in late on this one i think the bottom line is we are scared to go up i,ve been to 3 playoff finals now and 3 terrible performances 2 under mcCabe were by far the worst so i ask, reason for selling beattie?? Answer his wages.
No it wouldn't of got us 2nd we have no way of deducing this.I ask, so his extra goals wouldn't have got us up in 2nd spot ??? Quite obviously answer is YES there is something not quite right stop buying other clubs
You've not made any points apart from shown a feeble grasp of the real situation at the club. People moaned about investing in the academy saying it was a waste of money, that has been proven to be massively wrong just as you are moaning about spending £200,000 on our China links.Point made sort it out McCabe we should be going up this season

point made but do you think he could of made a difference at Wembley then instead of the other Beattie??
The player didn't want to stay, his agent arranged the move.point made but do you think he could of made a difference at Wembley then instead of the other Beattie??
McCabe stated in his Q&A session that Beatties agent contacted them to request a contract extension and "substantial" increase in salary around Oct/Nov time. Considering he'd only just come back from a long injury lay off and he was already the highest paid player in the league, and the 3 year extension he was after would have taken him to 34 years old. It seems to me he was either being a cheeky sod, or he needed to tell his agent to wind his neck in. Either way it doesn't sound to me like a player who didn't want to leave, more like a player who wasn't bothered who he played for as long as he was being paid "well". As for Leicester it wasn't a bad result as far as I'm concerned considering they were all over us in the first half. I'm quite pleased we forced our way back into the game, Leicester will do ok this season I think and will certainly suprise a few teams.
Understand what you saying but we got 2.5m for him i just think he would of got us up then flog him if he was being greedy then we would have got a lot more than 2.5m if we went upMcCabe stated in his Q&A session that Beatties agent contacted them to request a contract extension and "substantial" increase in salary around Oct/Nov time. He was quoted as saying he didn't want to leave, i heard the interview on bbc stoke radioThe player didn't want to stay, his agent arranged the move.
So please tell me how you can tell what kind of performance you would of gotten from a player who had been told he wasn't allowed to leave.
i think the missed chance'ssss that beattie 2 missed agianst preston twice shows it wouldn't of mattered what service he got. Beattie 1 made his own goalsGiven the service Beattie II got, probably not !!
I think we changed our style a bit after BT left and became less reliant on one man. Goals came from more people and I think team wise, we probably had a better 2nd half of the season to the 1st.
just like Tongei think the missed chance'ssss that beattie 2 missed agianst preston twice shows it wouldn't of mattered what service he got. Beattie 1 made his own goals
He was quoted as saying he didn't want to leave, i heard the interview on bbc stoke radio
just like tonge you mean who finished training an had a car waiting for him and being told were flogging you to stoke cars there? If a club tells you your off your off i'd go if i felt the club wanted to sell meSo why didn't he get his agent to stop touting him round the Premiership then?
Why did he sign if he didn't want to do?
He may not of wanted to leave but he certainly wasn't forced out. It was his decision to leave the club even if he didn't especially want to leave. He wanted more money, and fair play to him, but don't them pretend that we had much of a choice.
The manager, board and fans didn't want him to go.
Oh and we actually got £3.5 Million for him.
