Jesus Christ, all that video does is make me realise how grateful I am for our goalkeeping this season. Howard flaps at nearly every ball in that clip and Long was no better. Moore and Blackman are an absolute mile ahead of them.

The general point you make is what matters mate.

Like yourself, I've seen, and contributed to, far too many chats about squads and individuals, and then, taking a leap forward of say 2-3 seasons, the squad has changed, we have a new manager, new ideas, and whatever surrounded someone like Baxter is no longer relevant. At that time we had a certain criteria by which we judged players, and Baxter, because he's sometimes capable of delivering a good to great pass, was considered to be as good as any other player on our books. Times change, we're a far better club these days, we have a manager who'd waste no time in judging whether Baxter was fit for purpose or not.

Unfortunately he abused this club's goodwill, therefore all considerations about his place in the game, what future he might have, or whether he's better than other players, is redundant. His choices, his decisions, and not once did he show contrition. Let's see if his current employer is rewarded with the level of performance that they expect to see.
