Incoming? Jordan Rhodes on loan

In the Robin Hood at Hathersage couple weeks ago. CW was sat at bar with another 2 blokes. Said "eyup" to him and plonked my arse at a table. CW and the blokes left shortly afterwards. The man serving drinks was talking about him and Jordan Rhodes. Said Rhodes had been in the pub earlier with family aswell. Reckoned it looked like they were surprised to see each other but did spend about 20-30mins talking. A nothing story I thought, until spoke to a pal of mine (that's usually not far off with rumours) on eccy road today. He reckons Rhodes has had a couple of meetings with wilder who believes Rhodes, in the right team, could be an astute acquisition. Sounds like we're in dialogue with them about a season loan. He's on around 36k PW with us not willing to go above the 20k max structure in place. Personally, at 20k a week, I'd take a plunge, with perhaps a return clause after new year.
These sort of threads are great, it is a long way till the season starts, so a bit of Jackanory gives us something to jest about.

We won't sign a better striker than Jordan Rhodes next season. Fact.

So, if we got him on a loan at a cut-price wage, it would be a bargain.

It won't happen. It would be an incredibly stupid move if they let him come to us.

Or if we bought him.

New Asked a pal (that used to play for wilder many moons ago and is still in touch ) the question, "duz tha think wilder will stay pal?". His reply was straight to the point "Heard he's already gone". Went on to say he'd messaged him but had no reply, however said that's the talk amongst players and staff. Can't see how any deals done elsewhere yet, but that still doesn't stop him walking out at 3pm and sorting the next step tonight . What will be shall be.

He's scored bags of goals in other Championship teams. A good manager would build his confidence and get him scoring.

Interesting to see him in and Ched Evans in same squad given they were in a top scorer battle 7 years ago

So were Fowler and Shearer about 20 years ago, and like Ched they too would offer nothing now.

I've read my post twenty times and no where in it do I say wilder had left. Yeh my ITK mate 100% believed wilder was out of the door. And yes I repeated that on here. But, I like most others, can only go on what we're told.

Well if we aren't buying Rhodes where are we going to spunk this year's £300k?

I absolutely love Jordan Rhodes.

How can any Blade not?

He absolutely murdered Wednesday every time he played against them but can't hit a barn door now he plays for them.

Infact, I'm starting to think the lad must be a Blade. I'd welcome him to the Lane with open arms.

I think this is bollocks but if not, he has struggled with the pressure at the pigs, fans didn’t like him when he was on loan, then was signed against 95% of peoples wishes for a record £10m, gets more pressure, gets worse. Meanwhile, we are all over this disaster, he gets jeered off at the Lane. Can he seriously handle the pressure of switching to his city rivals, not a chance IMO.

Edit - only striker of there’s i’d have is Hooper

I've heard he's had a solid offer from Rivers to bead up their attack next season, as Roy has arthritis???
