Incoming? Jordan Rhodes on loan

In the Robin Hood at Hathersage couple weeks ago. CW was sat at bar with another 2 blokes. Said "eyup" to him and plonked my arse at a table. CW and the blokes left shortly afterwards. The man serving drinks was talking about him and Jordan Rhodes. Said Rhodes had been in the pub earlier with family aswell. Reckoned it looked like they were surprised to see each other but did spend about 20-30mins talking. A nothing story I thought, until spoke to a pal of mine (that's usually not far off with rumours) on eccy road today. He reckons Rhodes has had a couple of meetings with wilder who believes Rhodes, in the right team, could be an astute acquisition. Sounds like we're in dialogue with them about a season loan. He's on around 36k PW with us not willing to go above the 20k max structure in place. Personally, at 20k a week, I'd take a plunge, with perhaps a return clause after new year.

New Asked a pal (that used to play for wilder many moons ago and is still in touch ) the question, "duz tha think wilder will stay pal?". His reply was straight to the point "Heard he's already gone". Went on to say he'd messaged him but had no reply, however said that's the talk amongst players and staff. Can't see how any deals done elsewhere yet, but that still doesn't stop him walking out at 3pm and sorting the next step tonight . What will be shall be.

he comes and is a success, we can't afford to buy/pay him so he goes back to the sty with an increased value, meaning they can sell and get some money back. ( i appreciate we benefit from his goals)

either way we steer clear, especially given the shite we threw their way about him following the (non)penalty.
agree we need someone in up top, but Rhodes is too tainted by the unclean. I'm sure there are better/younger/faster options available than picking over the unwanted of a club we took 4points off and who finished several places below us.

Because if we are putting all our wage spend into one player he's going to need to be adaptable. If we go in to next year without any tactical wrinkles added to what we do I'll be very surprised. And playing one up top with Brooks/Duffy/whoever playing behind them seems the most obvious one

The only way I would want that complete waste of money at the club is if the pigs paid us £20K a week so we could use him to lick Billy's boots clean. We could knock off £5k if he licked Leon's as well.
Are you looking to go back to your mate's to say look the Blades would take him even though they chanted "what a waste of money". The way you tried to put a negative spin on Wilder's contract as well is becoming a pattern.
