This is a big plus if we can get this done. He will definitely improve the team. Has 5 assists in 17 matches which is a very good record from RB. Still gut a few years left in him and he's played at the top level. Whether it means Gilchrist goes central we'll just have to wait and see.

We can't replace Souttar with Gilchrist.
A Gilchrist / Anel CB partnership gets walked all over.
Gilchrist would be good as a RCB in a 3 man defence, but is caught between a RB & a CB.

I wouldn't mind seeing him go back if we sign an experienced RB, as keeping him would block Seriki's path. If not, he'd be great cover as he could step in to RB, RCB (if we go to a 3 during matches) and CB and might suit certain games.

"Very very passionate angry scouser. Type of player that tucks his shirt in and wears actual shin pads. I really fucking liked him just couldn’t get infront of Coleman as he was captain"
From my Everton supporting mate.
Sounds very much like a Wilder type player.

I'd really like us to go for this one.
Improves our attacking output significantly over Gilchrist.

I like Gilchrist, he gives his all.
He is really limited as soon as he crosses the half way line though and kills momentum, majority of the time opting to turn back and pass back to Anel.
If we're persisting with an inverted winger on the right, we need someone who is going to overlap and offer another option (like we've seen Seriki doing).

He'll have a decent career, however he's not a right back and isn't physically equipped well enough to be what we need in a centre back.

think youve made a good point there captain agree gilchrist would be ideal as rcb in a 3 and it is possible if we cant get a souttar replacement chris might revert back to 3 at the back with anel at cb which i think is his best position anyway plus robinson looks more comfortable in a back 3 than a 4 added to that seriki/kenny and burrows/mcallum would make excellent wingbacks at this level

We can't really replace Souttar but it's his aerial presence that we miss now that's my biggest concern.

It makes a huge difference at this level having someone who wins so many aerial duels.

We've conceded too many avoidable goals over recent years from being unable to defend nothing special balls into the box or not winning the first defensive header down the centre.

What we don’t know is the extent of the injury to Seriki do we. If he’s out for a while having a new actual RB seems pretty important as all the other options are players who aren’t really right backs but can do a job there.

I’m pretty sure they were posting these for everyone we were linked with in the summer.

No doubt there's 'content' quotas that they will be looking to fill, but they don't just post any old shite. There's normally at least some value to their research.

I'm presuming we are expected to play Gilchrist at RB, for the most part, so I don't quite see how this fits. Kenny isn't coming here to be back-up. Chelsea aren't loaning us a player who played for them last season to sit on a bench or play in a different position.
Kenny is out of contract in the German second division. He's proably being offered a decent 3 year deal at a good champ/potential prem team - closer to his hometown and with a good chance of being 1st choice next season. Gilchrist will never be a prem level player imo

Tom Davies and JJK were in the Everton team together. This might be a goer.

My Hertha supporting friend from Berlin sent me this summary:

Kenny is an honest worker, good passer, fairly quick, strong in defensive one against ones, makes good runs and has a decent shot. He is Hertha‘s only player who played every second this season. He will move on in the summer at the latest because his contract runs out. Unfortunately…

It's funny you say that....I watched the obligatory youtube reels of him posted on here and I instantly thought that his playing style reminded of our very own furious George! ⭐❤️

If you think Rocketman is bad then don’t let ‘NowDenBlades’ fall into your algorithm on X. He’s painful.

17/18 year old lad (he put his age on when people were abusing him and talking rubbish) who has to apologise on a monthly basis for getting things massively wrong.

TBH knowing the deadline re Canons recall clause and Wilders stating players in for Norwich means that saying today is pivotal is a feckin free shot for anyone employing guesswork

Progress made but not fully over line also going for his old Everton teammate MK

Truth is we don’t actually know what money we’ve got to work with but I imagine it’s more than what people surmise. We’ve been so used to not really having enough to scratch our arse with its more comfortable to think we’re poor. MK would be a great addition and possibly a like for like on Souttar

Sorry lads, deals off.

Google Gemini says there are no players with the initials MK
