Too right... Murphy too by the sounds of his Shrews performance and now tonights great goal.... Anybody?

Doubt it.

Fuck me calm down lads, we all want our team to do well but if your telling me you were totally thrilled when you heard who we had signed, then be honest, you are an absolute lying bastard! Just saying ;-)

Mattbianco 31/01/13...
We've strengthened the squad all round. Experienced midfielder a la Speed/ McCall/Cowans/Spackman etc, a wide player, a forward, experienced defender, got shut of a decent player fair enough but god did he cost us some of the draws this season. The amount of time he could have squared the ball is shocking !! plus we got some cash in bank, seems good business to me.

great win tonight, forte and murphy both scoring is great!

however, its one game, lets not get carried away. I remember Akinbiyi smashing the winner against the fowls and doing jack all else.

lets take a game at a time....

conversely theres then no need to come on and say what useless fucking signings they are , before they get a chance to see how they fare , just saying

He's exactly the sort of player we needed, but I guess we forgot that we've dropped nearer to his level while he's improved over the years.

Can't say I was anything other than underwhelmed by his signing, but the logic was good. If he'd never played for us the reaction would have been very different. A premiership reserve no less. :)

God, the clapper versus knocker debate is taking on new lows.

:(

UTB.

The disappointing thing for me was that 89th minute of it all - you could just picture the scene in the office "Right lads, we've sold our top striker once again, so at the very least get someone in. Preferably 2 legs and 2 arms, but get someone in in the next 60 minutes"

Anyway - if he does well for us, everyone will be delighted. Only a complete retard would think otherwise.

Last word - I'd much prefer we had our own quick striker up front. Having sold one, we've not bought one so that remains a poor show.

However, none of that is his fault. All he can do is more of what he did today. Good lad.

Exactly JD - but does anyone think it was his fault? Does anyone not wish him all the best? Is it completely irrational to be gutted when you sell your top striker and bring one in who you binned years ago, on the closing bell of transfer deadline day?

I can and will remain completely fucked off with McCabe's running of the club. I'm 100% behind our push for promotion. I don't need results to be right about McCabe - he's done that for me.

Where in my post did i say they were useless signings? Just saying

leans more towards these are 2 useless signings than actually saying Im happy weve made 2 promising signings, just saying

The people who were giving him pelters on here might not be blaming him - he was collateral damage next to the hammering of McCabe - but I doubt they're prone to cheering his name at the games either. He could easily have become a sort of poster boy for the failures of others.

Reminds me a bit of when we signed Iffy Onuora. People around me were cheering when he snapped his achilles shortly after his arrival.

Some pretty pathetic stuff was said at the time of his signing. Anyone care to offer up an apology now?

Poor effort Tarquers. If you were any kind of keyboard activist, you'd have done some research into what people posted when we signed Murphy and re-signed Forte.

As it is, you'll get a mixture of re-writing of history (always knew they'd be good for us), "one goal does not a legendary Blade make" and die-hards who will stick to the view that if we sign a player, he must be rubbish, by definition, regardless.

Only you can answer honestly, my point was it was a little pre emptive to start an apology thread on the basis of one goal from forte. I was less than excited on the announcement of his signing to be honest, based on previous performances and the fact we shipped oit our most creative player after the first bid. I truly hope to be proved wrong, only time will tell. UTB!!

I think Forte will get the response his performances deserve. I don't think there's any ill feeling, and people want him to do well for our own sake. But our transfer dealing would be met with the same derision at all clubs. I hate the term "clapper" and knocker", but it's really now just the extreme "clappers" defending McCabe and trying to score cheap points over Forte's performances.

Iffy Onuora was just shite. I'm not sure what the parallels are there.

Warnock was hammered for signing him and the Chief. Chief got pelters too before winning most round, while Onoura lasted 5 minutes.

The parallel is this - writing off players based on prejudice is a shitty thing to do. Some were doing that with Forte, but thankfully not as badly.

I thought he scored the winner at Derby as well.

I think most were just highlighting the sense of how we've turned to shit as a club since releasing him to signing him back at the 89.99999th minute. I think that still holds.

Hes not ours so well done for selling the 23 year old who belonged to us and getting someone elses player in for doing his job. And fuck me he scored tonight so I'm off to mess my pants.
