Outgoing? John Lunsdtram

Basically a bit of a nothing update from James Shield, but it’s the best we can get right now. I’ll Cadette it as best I can.

Still no bids in for Lundstram. Burnley the latest club to show interest alongside West Ham and Brighton. No hard feelings between Wilder and Lunny. If Lunny wanted to sign a contract, he’d be welcomed back. But unsurprisingly Wilder is keen to bring in Lunny’s replacement ASAP in pre-season. He hopes it’ll be Swift.

I disagree that he worth the same as Norwood, Fleck and Berge. They are all players who have proved their value over a longer period.
Lundstram has shown a poor attitude on the pitch, and he disagrees with Wilders valuation. Guess who will win that debate?
Roy has sussed the lad spot on.
Berge proved his value over a longer period? he's proved nothing yet in the short time he's been here . Agree about the other two.

I dunno about proved nothing.. there was a few games there after the restart where he looked an absolute rolls royce of a player. Silky on the ball, physically impossible to knock off it, really intelligent passing and movement. I saw a hell of a player there ready to be coaxed out by CWAK

Would love you to be right but he has looked like a Lada in a lot of games and has broken down and been replaced on more than one occasion by CW .Here's hoping CW has A car manual on how to upgrade a Lada to a Rolls Royce. 😉

Neither Lundstram or Berge are right sided players and if Swift is being targeted to play that position it will be interesting to see which of Berge and Norwood start the season on the bench

He looked a dud or a few games I'll grant but theres got to be some leeway coming here Belgium then getting chucked straight into the deep end, then being told to self isolate for several months 🤣 I've seen enough to think hes gonna be a reyt player. Time will tell!

He seemed back to his best v Southampton but I wonder if that was motivated by knowing it was his likely to be his last game for us and an opportunity to put himself in the shop window.
He could have scored a couple v saints and nearly set one up but everything else he did was laboured and negative ,he look
Won't be going to Burnley they're signing Flr
Sean Dyche seen in Copthorne talking to Fleck

Won't be Burnley
They're after Fleck
Dyche seen in Copthorne

I think Berge has proven his potential before he joined us. We have not seen the best of him yet. He’s an international with experience in european competition. Not bad for a youngster. 😊

Obviously doesn't want to be here, ungrateful cunt. Tatty Bye John 👋
There will be a thread in a few years time, about how Lunny didn’t want to leave the Blades and how it was one of the highlights of his career and that he still loves us. But his market transfer value was worth more to the club than him being here.

See the Brayford thread and do “Find and replace”.

Oohh, a tad harsh, but he's probably not going to be our player by the looks of it for much longer, so it matters not really. I wish him well if he does go though.

He's not a kid anymore and I hope you're right when you say we've not seen the best of him , since so far , that's been very little .

When Tony Currie joined us as a virtually unknown 18 year old with none of the experience that Berge has had , he showed more in his first 45 mins. than the latter has in the 15 or so games he has played .

I'm all for being patient with new players but there comes a time when you have to ask the question as to how good they really are .

So far in his case , my answer would be not very and to put it in perspective , I would argue that in the few chances that he had Mo Besic was much more effective in the role than Berge has been and he is only a bit part player for Everton.

For me , this lad needs to improve significantly in order to justify that he is worth anywhere near the money we paid for him . I sincerely hope he does so but from what I've seen so far , I won't be betting on it .

Rolls Royce of a player ? Come on ffs get real ...

He could be tempted to deploy the ‘double pivot’ with Norwood & Berge sitting

I'm not being funny, but Tony Currie was signed in 1968. There's not a great deal to be gained by making that kind of comparison, football has changed so much.

I believe it’s a long running joke from a few season ago when a poster on here claimed they’d seen Dyche in the Copthorne and he’d told them he was there to sign Fleck.
Fuck !

Where DID I sleep last night ?!?!
Does this mean there's no breakfast ?
I'm going to complain to the owner
" Dear Uncle Kevin....

I got whooshed!!! My bad🤣

Are we judging all new signings against tony currie now? What a ridiculous viewpoint.

Like you, I enjoyed the blades with Tony Currie being creative and superbly talented. He is an iconic player.
If you wish to make that comparison, fair enough. Berge is a talent that has developed elsewhere, under different management and tactical systems. He was seriously considered by much bigger clubs than us. He came to United because he wanted to test himself in the premier league, against the worlds best teams and players.
While I will freely admit that I have not seen much of his action, and he has been locked down in a foreign country, his quality is obvious to anyone with a football brain.
He is no where near the complete footballer, and still has much to learn. He has been thrown in to an awkward situation, mid season in a settled side. He will come good, I’m convinced of it and he has picked the right manager to lead him all the way.

Thank god someone on here knows a good footballer when they see one.
