Nixon suggesting that Barcodes are after Diop from West Ham before deadline tomorrow.

" That would leave Moyes requiring a replacement . Sheffield Uniteds John Egan is the name being whispered within the Club"

Could be an interesting day for our supposed transfer committee in the next 24 hours.

As long as they are whispering to each other, nobody else will hear them.

But the worry is who would stand in for Egan if he left or was injured?

We're already after a CB so if Egan went surely we'd need 2?

Really don't have the faith our leaders would be able to deliver that!

£10m and Craig Dawson on loan please

If I'm John Egan, Im speed dialling my agent.

Given the speed of our transfer committee I'd guess that if they did sign Egan they'd have to send us someone on loan.

And if they came in with a large offer we'd have to really take it.

If I’m United, I’m speed dialling West Ham and saying £10m please. Then snatch their hand off, take off the mask, and go and get Nat Phillips on loan.

Egan isn’t as good as people think he is, if we get a great offer and can sort a replacement then it’s a no brainer

If we get a half decent fee and get another in before the window closes I’d be absolutely fine with this, if we don’t go up in 2 years his value will keep dropping and dropping and it will be another player on big wages which can’t be sold

He's better than Nat Phillips.

Not having that, thought he held his own for them last season in what will have been a very tough set of circumstances.

He's 25 and has hardly played a professional match. He for me was a contributor (yeah it's poor circumstances, but I'm highlighting it because it's certainly not his level), in a poor Liverpool defensive season.

Meh, there’s a lot like that when they’re at teams like Liverpool, Chelsea. They get held back for whatever reason.

Think of him, Williams and Kabak he was by far the better player. Low standards but still. But it’s all irrelevant anyway because we won’t be signing him.

But I certainly don’t think there is much between him and Egan, who I actually think has been pretty poor for a year and half.

Sound in a back 3, found wanting in a back 4, agree with ya there.

Wouldn't sell him for someone who has less experience than me lol

Well I’m not sure who we could sign (on loan of course) at short notice, I’d like to have thought someone like Craig Dawson but I’d they’re replacing Issa Diop that’s obviously a no go. Hmm. Very pensive.

I'd just stick with what we have.... but we do look feeble at the back. Bash gets plenty of praise but he's been pretty car crash of late and even his forays deep into the oppo half, whilst exciting, usually result in the inevitable pass to the wing and nothing else.

Yep, Bash is far from excused from the displays of late.
