What qualifies that bald headed nob the right to say we are divided? Oh yeh, if he dint make that up he Wunt have a story.

We are no longer a club divided but United, tomorrow's chip paper want drive a rift through Wilders United lazy journo or not

I know the blokes a Blade but has he been on Sunday Supplement for credibility stakes .:D Like fat twat from The Mail .

We will never know the full SP on Evans . Will the guy get the number 9 squad shirt next season .

Wilders interview will be interesting , players do come and go , and perhaps there is no conspiracy , just all at BDTBL have bought into Evans being a good buy and asset in the Championship.

Wilder main man , won't have his leg lifted , doesn't go for bullshit . Evans won't know what's hit him with the intense training and required commitment to the cause .

Bring it on .

Yes, other than the tonne of posts on here in the last day, disagreements between posters, forum polls showing disunity, and a mix of views on local phone-ins, what possible evidence is there that fans aren't 100% behind this signing?

TBH very little. Knee jerk reaction over jurno's will try and get some milage but there is no story unless we react and make one. Look at the shit storm that hit chezzy when they signed him convicted but with retrial, it didn't. And IF he signs only fans reacting will give the media and the pigs any ammo so everyone just calm down.

Balanced piece, but nothing we didn't already know, we have now bounced back from the disastrous season when we through automatic away.oh he forgot mention fckin cheating Hans Segars when the ball slipped thru his hands.......the Blades are back, the past is history and now we look to the future with much optimism!

I think that the Blades have been very clever if the rumours are to be believed.

Excellent article.

"this smacks of settling scores well beyond the dugout..." Doesn't it just.

He mentions Sharp, Clarke and Hanson as some sort of evidence that we don't need him!

We need a new striker for next season, simple as that. Weather Ched is that striker is open for debate, don't try and pretend that we have 3 Championship quality strikers.

Nailed it.

Just his view and its bollocks.

News of the signing has been released by the ex pig Chesterfield crew in an attempt to unsettle The Blades set up because they know the pigs reign is over next season.

The Blades have nothing to do with the timing of the release, in fact they are furious.

Why else was there no one in the RS studio last night when it was scheduled for them to be there [Donny are in tonight].

Why no comment from ANYONE at the club?

As I've said previous watch out for us seriously trying to put 11 past Chesterfield, they will be seen as nothing more than scum and low life.

100 points AND 100 goals as well as never playing Chesterfield again for 30 years will be justice.

The fact that "We need a new striker for next season" speaks of bollocks.

No, I don't think it does Alfie.
I think it's a shrewd bit of business.
Billy scored less in this season than Evans did in 'that season' with 6 or 7 less games played.
Billy is another year older now and at 32? he might find the going tougher than his previous stints in the Champ.
Evans is younger, an International striker (admittedly only for Wales!) and has, based on his last time in this division, shown he's at least a match for our Billy.
Why wouldn't he be another of those that CW gets the very best from?
I really do think it smacks more of 'Wilder hoping to turn him into a more than adequate replacement for the Billy' rather than settling a score. I can't even think who wants to settle the score, or even what the score to be settled is!

I read that and didn't understand what "scores" are being settled? Is it just the club giving two fingers to all the earlier external critics?
Really hope that's not the case. What scores are there to be settled?

I think, going by the logic of the article, he's suggesting the signing isn't being made entirely for footballing reasons...

As for the scores being settled, see above mate.

As regards whether this is the shrewdest business we could be doing in the striking department right now, we'll very much have to differ on that one.

By far Chris's worst signing for me, by many, many miles. C'est la vie.

Ah , it's a PR exercise !
He's a crock who can't play , but he's here to bring controversy to the Club , just a the time when we are building a reputation for decent football.
I mean , really , what has McCabe done with his last-surviving brain-cell ?

I agree with the bald headed cunt and I am one too. Not a footballing decision and in my opinion has disaster written all over it, and that's just the football side of it
