It's no Dominos, so he won't have got a 50% discount.

Interviewed on Radio Sheffield. He's implying that the board's decision to sack Clough wasn't unanimous, and reading between the lines I don't think he was in favour of the sacking. He talked about people on the board coming from "different corporate cultures". It's all in the past now but I would still be interested to hear what went on.

Sod the corporate cultures, we want the best man for the job who knows how to win a bloody promotion from lg1. Maybe some wanted the 'clough' branding to benefit their own interests.

The appointment of Adkins definitely justifies the sacking of clough.

Yes, purely guesswork but the McCabe - Clough relationship breaking down is the most likely scenario for me. As I said, Phipps hinted that the board wasn't united over Clough's sacking and given JP's previous comments about ending the short term approach, I think that he probably needed to be won over. Saying that, JP is the Prince's representative and I doubt he has as much influence as the two men with the money.

Jim didn't look that happy in his interview. Just watch him when the interview ends, his demeanour changes very rapidly. Hopefully he will come around soon if the results are good but I can totally understand his displeasure with the short term approach to managers. Hopefully this is a long one!

McCabes interview on RS gives it all away in one line.

'There had to be a change in the style of play'

Guess Nige wasn't up for that.
