So if we connect the dots this is a glorified loan, if he turns good we will get him back with Dunfermline getting a pat on the back, if he doesn't they keep or let him go.

We get another spot opened up for a first team CB possibly.

Shite for the player and a bad look for us.
Probably in the match day squad there and a bigger opportunity for him to play and potentially earn a better move . Let's be honest at 22 we would have probably just let his contract run without even seeing him and he'd be back in Peru where he started at 25 or so. He seems pretty happy on his signing pics too. GLTTL

GLTTL. I hope he does amazing abd in some ways we end up regretting this. It will mean that he has done well and also that the recruitment was correct... just a lack of awareness of processes around foreign players was naive.

Don’t pretend to like the ‘treating players like meat’ aspect.

Longer term I fear a little for clubs and transfer markets.

At some point some obscure player is going to challenge and say “why can’t I move jobs when I want and to whom I want? Why does my employer need to get compensated or I don’t move?”

By the way, hope the difference is coming out of James Bord’s pocket. In what world by the way do you but a 22 year old development player? 18, 19, I get, but 22? It’s the age at which we’re letting them go when they haven’t made the first team.

I don't like this much at all given he was supposed to be project and he got shit all chance a huge distance from home. Throw in the dodgy links between Bord and the deal and it smells like it looks.

But if we've brought him in, he's not looked good enough and he'll get shit all chance here, then a move will work well for him and it's the best all round.

Of course the second paragraph is mostly bollocks but I've tried.

Not every gamble will pay off. We signed him at a time he was never going to get a look in unless he was special.

He isn't so we move on.

Both Caceres and Ukaki played in preseason and both did impress, but Ukaki must be higher rated as he's been in the squad for the last 2 games, starting against Birmingham.

Personally (even though they play different positions, Ukaki RW, Caceres LW/CAM), I think Ukaki overtook him in the pecking order, and being younger, might be seen as the one more likely to succeed with us.

I've said this on another thread, but Caceres going to Dunfermline might actually be a better move for him, as it's a lower level and he might get the game time he needs to kick on, which he probably wouldn't have got with us.
