Bert never saw any reason to keep him, he wasn't and won't ever be good enough.
It brings into question Mr Tufty Widler's judgement, he was very keen to keep him.
I thought he was utter rubbish every time I saw him play, but still wanted him to sign a new contract because we would definitely have got a few quid for him just for his physical attributes. Wilder's not daft.Bert never saw any reason to keep him, he wasn't and won't ever be good enough.

Only 3 months older than Louis Marsh who people still see as a kid who's nowhere near ready for this level, but very well thought of. Jebbison had a much better record at youth level.
May well end up at Boreham Wood. Not sure why people are able to definitively write him off on the basis of a few games.
He really upset some people on here!!

Which could be down to him thinking that his development and progress could be better served elsewhereMy assumption that he thought he was the bees knees is based on him refusing a contract despite achieving very little in the game.
I don’t not wish him well, it’s a genuine ‘meh’ from me. Apart from being short on numbers we don’t miss him.Which could be down to him thinking that his development and progress could be better served elsewhere
I personally think he’d reached his limit in the championship and the management team couldn’t give him the games he needed to kick on at championship level. I didn’t think it was right to bring him back early from burton, he needed games at that level. He wasn’t ready to be competitive at championship level.
Going to Bournemouth and then Watford, so far hasn’t been a Tommy Doyle/ james McAtee move for him where he could get more games, if he’s not making the matchday squad it’s not the development he needs
Whatever his decision for leaving we seemed more than happy with the compensation and I don’t think we’re in a worse place for losing him. Like most players you wish him well but I don’t think we lose much sleep over losing him
He does but I think that’s his general demeanourI don’t not wish him well, it’s a genuine ‘meh’ from me. Apart from being short on numbers we don’t miss him.
I just think he comes across as having a bit of an arrogant air about him.
Probably why he’s a professional footballer in fairness to the lad.He does but I think that’s his general demeanour
I think he probably developed earlier than other lads, he’s not really had physicality issues when he’s stepped up. He’s got pace, height, more gazelle like than a power house and has scored goals in league one. So he’s got some attributes which perhaps push him forward into the first time. He’s got an ok touch and probably not a bad finisher. All good so far.Probably why he’s a professional footballer in fairness to the lad.
We pretty much did a straight swap Jebbo for Moore from what Wilder saidDecisions have to be made and often financial ones when not in the top division.
We’ve effectively swapped Jebbo for Michael Cooper.
A first choice keeper, possibly one of the best, if not the best, in the division, for a lad struggling to nail down a spot at a fellow Championship club and likely no more than a sub with us.
He’s got some physicality but now he’s not outstripping young lads that he’s bigger and quicker than, his attributes look less outstanding.
It just shows what a fickle mistress football can be. If he’d stayed at Burton, he might have finished with 20 league one goals and developed some more. As it was, events elsewhere put paid to that and he’s spent over three years injured or failing to impress.
Meanwhile the likes of Ndiaye has made a name for himself and gone for 15-20m and Osula has done enough to attract Newcastle’s scouts.
Probably a good move for us in the end but had he played more when younger, maybe we’d be more regretful than we are now, but for the moment, his career is just drifting.
Hmmm sounds better when it was said it was a swap for Cooper. We pretty much did a straight swap Jebbo for Moore from what Wilder said
My assumption was that he was unhappy with the way he got a blood clot from our medical team doing a routine blood test on him. Then he decided he didn’t trust the club to look after him properly as a professional athlete and so didn’t want to sign a new contract. But I know full well that this was just totally made up in my head and may have had nothing whatsoever to do with his actual reasons for leaving. I’d guess there’s lots and lots of possible reasons why someone might think a job offer working for another employer somewhere else is worth taking compared to a new short term contract with your current employer. I do wonder what prompted him to go and work for someone else (which I admit I have no idea about at all really), but I’d expect it to be something more concrete and tangible to do with wages etc. rather than a general attitude of thinking you’re better than the club you’re working for. Either way, it’s not usually something I’d guess at and then boo him for. (Not saying anyone in the thread booed him by the way - but I think some people at the ground did boo when he played here a few weeks ago - maybe because they’d made their own guesses about why he left). My assumption that he thought he was the bees knees is based on him refusing a contract despite achieving very little in the game.
Didn't wilder say a few things that stirred it up pre game? I wouldn't boo him, he really was absolute nothingness for us. The only reason he gets mentioned is a good few people thought he would be better than he turned out to be. It's like having a 28 page thread on Callum Mcfadzean. I did boo him during the game when I thought he had grabbed hold of Souttar and swung at him. The I booed him a few more times. But looking at the replay, I think Harry may have started that one, so I’ve decided to let Jebbo off now.
He went to a higher league thoughDidn't wilder say a few things that stirred it up pre game? I wouldn't boo him, he really was absolute nothingness for us. True but he still didn't cut it with us in a lower league and still hasn't by the looks of it.He went to a higher league though
I just don't get how quickly his career has been written offTrue but he still didn't cut it with us in a lower league and still hasn't by the looks of it.
I haven’t put that much thought into it.My assumption was that he was unhappy with the way he got a blood clot from our medical team doing a routine blood test on him. I think people were more bothered about the way he left.No idea why people on here get in a tizzy or have ill feelings about ex players leaving,he thought he could better himself,at present it’s not working out . Good luck to him especially at the weekend, once he left it certainly didn’t irritate me,more important things going off.
