I’m sure Fulham will be in a higher Cat 1. Can’t compare us to themAgree Fulham got a package worth £4.3m including add ons for Harvey Elliott when he went to Liverpool at the age of 16. Jebbison has been developed at SUFC much longer than Elliott was at Fulham, the benchmark for calculating compensation. We have to hope there is a significant add on fee and that this deal is a sweetner to get Moore and Brooks on loan
I think they’ve probably scouted him based on his Wikipedia page. It’s a gamble in the sense that he’s played no competitive football for a year and hasn’t dazzled when he’s played first team gamesAs FtT says, that's not a great fee for a young international striker (regardless of how his ability is viewed by a lot of people on here, myself included) and I hope the deal is boosted with performance related add-ons.
Tbh at this stage he could turn out to be anything - from another Jordan Slew to a £40m player. I suppose £1.5m is not a bad gamble from B'mouth's perspective and it's not the first time they taken such a punt on a player.
Out of contract, so known as a free transfer as the player is free to move and not contracted'On a free after 1.5m compensation agreed' ?????
Do they make this stuff up? He's either free or they are paying 1.5m which one is it?
Oh and he won't be anywhere near their first team so he will be playing with the scholars and first year pros which is effectively academy football
Well obviously not ,Think we'd have got more at a tribunal
That's a collectors item! Jebbo smiling!
Why obviously and why the comma ?Well obviously not ,
Deal , sweeteners, commaWhy obviously and why the comma ?
His agent doing his jobI wonder why things changed from Wilder's initial 48-72 hours comments...
Sweeteners for what?Deal , sweeteners, comma
In being here longer, he's only added much more doubt as to if he's any good or not. I've seen nothing to suggest so.Agree Fulham got a package worth £4.3m including add ons for Harvey Elliott when he went to Liverpool at the age of 16. He is nowBut Harvey Elliott is 10 times the player Jebbo will ever be.
Bit subjective to say Bournemouth aren't significantly bigger than us apart from being in a higher division![]()
How does a transfer tribunal work and how much will Danny Ings cost?
Liverpool have signed the striker from Burnley, but the transfer fee will be decided by a complex process that must take into account the player’s future as well as his pastwww.theguardian.com
Dug out some info on how tribunals work, in terms of how they calculate a transfer value:
"First of all the status of the two clubs (transferor and transferee) is taken into account, then the age of the player. The terms on which the player was engaged by the transferor are examined, as is the amount of any fee paid upon registration, and the length of time the player was at the club.
The terms of the new contracts offered to the player by each club are considered, then the player’s playing record is looked at, in terms of first-team appearances and international call-ups. Finally, interest shown by any other clubs is taken into account."
So I'm not convinced we'd have gotten more than £1.5m. Bournemouth aren't significantly bigger than us outside of being in a higher league. Jebbison is older than Harvey Elliott is, so arguably would have a lower ceiling in terms of development, as a lot of the key years for growth are already behind him. His playing record won't help us much either. Not all that many appearances for our first team, albeit heavily impacted by injuries. It would also likely depend on what terms he was offered by us before agreeing this move - if we offered him relative peanuts compared to what Bournemouth are going to pay him, then a tribunal fee would change again.
Probably better off to cut our losses at this point and take the 1.5, rather than forcing a tribunal, which would probably have a poor chance at best of yielding something more substantial. At least this way we can use the funds to invest in the squad now rather than waiting longer.

Jebbison to Sunderland in the summer.
This one is still very much on.
Without being privy to the exact metrics that are/might be used in these decisions, it's difficult to be anything other than subjective really. Yes, Bournemouth are a PL side. But we are very recently relegated from that league, it's not as if we've never been there. And then we have a larger stadium and fanbase compared to Bournemouth, which would likely work in our favour too. But it's just me chucking my thoughts out there ultimately.Bit subjective to say Bournemouth aren't significantly bigger than us apart from being in a higher division
What other metric of measurement do You think They use other than being In the richest league in the world compared to being in the cash strapped championship?
Just about covers the wage he stole ffsDecent fee all things considering, hopefully we can crack on spending that £1.5m now
That’s what I’m thinking, low fee but 20% sell on.Hopefully we have managed to include a similar sell on clause
