Did everything to keep him? Played sharp ahead of him, and let him have 12 months on his deal and didn’t organise anything. Then we made a last ditch attempt to get him to sign, shambles.
There were a lot of players with 12 months on their contracts last summer.
Do you not think that injury might have prevented us selling Jebbo?

He played sharp ahead of him last season. He didn’t see a pathway into the starting line up.
Jebbo was unable to play because he had blood clot! It is all in your head that he had been fit to play all last season! Also it is all in your head that Sharp played for us last season!

I think he clearly meant in 22/23, where Sharp was completely ineffective at Championship level but Hecky kept playing him anyway

Apologies, I wasn’t clear but you know what I mean. Hecky chose to play Sharp over him and the writing was on the wall for him. Why would he resign for Hecky?

I don’t blame him but it’s sad to lose talent for free.

Hecky's main goal was to get promotion (and thank god for us that he succeeded), not to give Jebbo game time. There was a spell in that promotion season where Jebbo did quite well coming off the bench about 3 games in a row. Hecky then gave him a start and he didn't perform and was subbed quite early.

I only hope that he signs for another English club so that we at least get some compensation for him. I certainly didn't want 4 of our forwards being him, McB, Brewster and Osula next season. Three players that have been out too often with injuries and a very raw kid.

You could blame Jebbison and say he shouldn't have lied to us and say he would sign a new contract.

However... people in here warned multiple times that you are setting yourself up for this sort of situation by not putting a deadline on the new contract.

We constantly willingly put the power in the players hands time and time again.

We are probably doing the same with McBurnie as I type this.

Wonder what we will buy with the £3.20 we get from tribunal. Meal deal to try persuade McB to stay?

As FtT says, that's not a great fee for a young international striker (regardless of how his ability is viewed by a lot of people on here, myself included) and I hope the deal is boosted with performance related add-ons.

Tbh at this stage he could turn out to be anything - from another Jordan Slew to a £40m player. I suppose £1.5m is not a bad gamble from B'mouth's perspective and it's not the first time they taken such a punt on a player.

Even if he does turn out to become another Slew, they probably still make a profit on him

'On a free after 1.5m compensation agreed' ?????

Do they make this stuff up? He's either free or they are paying 1.5m which one is it?

Oh and he won't be anywhere near their first team so he will be playing with the scholars and first year pros which is effectively academy football

Think we'd have got more at a tribunal
Not if they read the reviews of him on here!😂
They’ve clearly deducted a million £ for every hour he had under the tattoo needle…

In all seriousness, if he’d not had a season out injured I think the fee would have been double.

I think he’ll do alright for them- out on loan to a team like Plymouth or Portsmouth for a season and see if he can progress.

Would've preferred Moore or Brooks instead of the £1.5m, but let's hope tht helps us in our pursuit.

Agree Fulham got a package worth £4.3m including add ons for Harvey Elliott when he went to Liverpool at the age of 16. Jebbison has been developed at SUFC much longer than Elliott was at Fulham, the benchmark for calculating compensation. We have to hope there is a significant add on fee and that this deal is a sweetner to get Moore and Brooks on loan
