Jamie Shackleton

There was a moment near the end of the game, Shackleton just aimlessly kicked it out under absolutely no pressure. The camera panned in on his face and he blew his cheeks out and wheezed like he'd just completed a really hard 10k and was sat waiting for his latte in the cafe like me, after a jog on a Saturday morning. Incredible and summed up where we are at.
scandalous aint it

Agree with this. He reminds me of Ben Osborn, sure he’s got a great football mind and is tidy but he’s just not strong enough, cannot get round a man or outpace a full back
It’s like me and snooker, I watch it on tele and call every shot - potting and positioning

Put me a snooker bat in my hand and im like a Thalidomide with Parkinson’s

The lad is reportedly on £8k a week and contracted to us until the end of the season. He has played a total of 348 minutes, including today, since he signed for us and is likely to be injured for most of this season too. Wilder probably can't get rid of him and, to be fair, with his injury record, he'd be giving up a good wage for significantly less elsewhere. Wilder's statement about it being a “big season” for him was probably just mind games to get the best out of a player who is staying whether he likes it or not.

There was a short, fleeting time when he played for Leeds where he wasn't 'that bad'.

Don't ask me when it was, I can't remember. I just recall thinking, "Might be a good signing, that lad."

He's crap, isn't he?
I dunno, it’s hard to judge a player who’s never actually available.

Out of breath from carrying all the culture.

It sickens me the amount of footballers that steal a ridiculous wage 🤮
Make what someone makes in a year in a month

Remember when we had a huge early season game against Leeds at Elland Road & Shackleton started. Lol.

“Patrick Bamford was left on the bench at Ewood Park after reporting an issue with his knee, while Wilder reported that Mark McGuinness missed out with a tight quad and Jamie Shackleton was ill.”

Ill? This guy owes us complete availability. Unless he’s got the Bubonic plague or AIDS then he should be good to go.

Calling in sick? Jesus he’s missed so many matches. Really got to harden up these footballers.

TBH the stick he gets from us (myself including and its well-deserved), if I was ill I wouldn't want to play. I would want to give 100% to prove I'm better than what the opinions of ourselves and several journalists say!

It wasn't his fault that he'd already booked an MOT for late afternoon.
He needs his car, getting an Uber out to surprise view car park isn't a good look. ;)

In a way it is a big season for him, although not meant really in the terms of how Wilder bigged him up, at 27 when his contract expires if he hasn't had a decent season and isn't injury free he will find not many takers, he should be out of the door, especially as we have Curtis. He won't get that salary anywhere else, so might have to hope his fitness holds out and take a drop down a few leagues. But if he does some how have a big season we could take an option to risk a 1 year plus option to extend.

No, we should let him leave regardless.
How many times do we rinse and repeat the ' just needs a good preseason ' or the medical team will ease him in.
Joking apart, if his extra curricular activities are putting a further strain on his health, it can't be easy playing in front of thousands when a lot of them know what's happened, so perhaps he's having panic attacks instead of a physical issue?
For me if you're not hurting anyone else and it's consensual etc then whatever floats your boat. However as us 'punters' are contributing to his wages then he should be looking at a lower profile and lower paid career. All Subjective but otherwise he's just a crock. 😆
