Ahh, a masters in psychology too.

How's saying Done has contributed more than Hanson painted myself into a corner? For me Hanson would be fifth choice, which is saying I believe we have 4 strikers better than him. Doesn't mean all four are good enough for the Championship does it.

There I've painted the picture for you, maybe it's a little easier for your one track mind to soak in now.

I'm afraid it's more abstract than landscape. Do you mean Sharp, Clarke, Evans and Lavery? If so, I agree all are more talented than him. That doesn't mean he won't be more effective than any of them in certain circumstances.

If you're saying we can get by with only four main strikers in the Championship then I'm afraid you need the benefit of my experience again. It ain't so.

What do you think, Bradford fans?

Christ, because somebody doesn't agree with an opinion on a message board he's accused of 'ripping' into the players.

Get a grip ffs.

It's nothing to do with 'not agreeing' with opinions.

You said Hanson made no contribution and plenty have disagreed with you, but apparently now we have to get a grip?

If 'no contribution' is not ripping into a player then what is it? Not even 48 hours after lifting the trophy and you have rubbished a player who helped in this. If you can't see the contradiction in your own posts there is never going to be much of a sensible debate, is there?

I do like this reference to his 'battle' with John Terry.

But for some reason the Montgomery battle with Lampard is a myth.

When the agenda suits?

What on Earth are you talking about? There was no battle. There was no comment about Montgomery from Frank Lampard. He's never given the human training-cone a second thought. It was fabricated by some numpty on a RS phone-in. It's a Bladey Fucking myth, and a deeply embarrassing one at that.

Hanson, on the other hand, dominated Terry on live television for all to see.

Come on, if you're going to quote me then at least get it right.

I said 'hasn't contributed much'. That's a little more than 'no contribution' as you put it.

So would Stone Cold Steve Austin.

Doesn't make him a great footballer though does it.

Let's throw this into the mix then...

Who was the more effective player - Montgomery who you clearly have zero respect for as a Blade, or ''Big 'Dominated Terry' James'.

You haven't followed my lifetime of work on here much, have you....

Yes. I think that bit of drivel ends today's discussion neatly. Over to you, Bradford fans..

Don't understand this obsession you have with Bradford, quite disturbing.

Drivel - thought it might be better tact to drop down a bit, childish comments and all that.

Ahhhh, so because I said I don't believe Hanson is good enough, I'm not a Blade and I'm not happy with our season?

Last I checked the OP was drawing comparisons between Hanson and Henderson, not asking what we thought of the season.

When and where did this "banging them in" take place?
Certainly not when he was due to tear Div3 a new one for Orient. eh Houso?

He went to Millwall immediately after us and did well there scoring 26 in 51 appearances. Houso?

Sorry Jordo.
I had a "bet" with Houso that our esteemed ex CF would not score the 20 goals he suggested he might now he'd dropped to Div3 level. Needless to say the bet went my way.
I seem to recall he knocked in 14 or 15 league goals the season he left, which is OK but not what I'd class as "banging them in".

Spot on ,people have forgotten all those games where we struggled to break an 11 man defence down ,just as much better sides than ours have ,Hanson gave us another dimension ,why people cant see this is beyond me.

What about the other matches where we managed to rip defences apart? Have you forgotten that we were already top of the league and top scorers before we signed Hanson?

Hanson was a fantastic purchase. We were missing a target man that would allow us to mix it up when needed. It was the JTW, we were top of the table, and instead of spending big cash on our usual "Premier league" player on their way down, or over the odds on a similar not good enough, we picked out one for a reasonable price that would give us enough to get us up. And Hanson delivered. He had some match winning assists, knocked seven bells out of some defenders, and completed a side that had everything else but that.

Will we be good enough in the Championship to get away with having a striker who scores as few as Hanson? I suspect not. Still think he was a solid addition that Wilder got absolutely spot on while the ignorant like myself scratched their heads.

I would guess the aim is to build a squad that will be formidable in the Championship next season. Hanson has his qualities and his shortfalls. So for me, the question is, does Hanson bring anything to the table that benefits the squad?

The responsibility of giving that answer falls squarely on the shoulders of Chris Wilder and Alan Knill. They have proven themselves this season and earned the confidence of the majority of the supporters to be trusted on their decisions.

another totally meaningless statistic.

Why is it meaningless? Its not a lie and its one of the many statistics such as Jake Wright not being on the losing side or all our home defeats coming in midweek matches or we were bottom of the table at the end of August or Freeman has scored 11 goals, more than every striker other than Billy

They all facts in this memorable season

It's quite simple for me. You either trust Wilder 100% or you don't.

We're just debating a player here, what has anyone's trust in Wilder got to do anything?

Any thread discussing players, tactics, team performances etc. could be answered with "In Wilder we trust" but then what is the point in a forum?

No one is making any demands or claiming they are a better manager than Wilder, we're just giving our opinions, that's one of the fun parts of being a football fan, discussing the team you support and football in general.

Hanson was good value and gave us options. Great Signing. Was worth £150k for his contribution to the Bolton game. We had been bullied by Bolton twice previously, but with Hanson we were doing the bullying and playing the total football ! I am looking forward to more of the same next season where Hanson can give us a physical presence so we can play our football e.g. Bolton and Wednesday.

Hanson will have a big part to play next season, both in attack and defence. If we go 1-0 up against a decent side and it's back to the walls, I can't think of a better player to bring on!!

Hanson was bought to do a specific job
and did it with utter professionalism
some of our fans are like Buzzards, sat on a tree waiting for an opportunity to slag off any player they take a dislike too
Its quite funny how sad they are, they cant see any positives in anything
no point argueing he did whats expected of him after we signed him
theyve already written him off, and want Anton Greizmann or similar within a month , or we arent trying

Just to plant my flag on this one:

Henderson was a witless shithouse who cost a fortune and contributed heavily to our relegation.

Six bastard years on from that...

James Hanson is by all accounts a top lad and useful contributor who cost peanuts and helped us to a frickin' glorious promotion via an epic unbeaten run.

All sorted.
