Some kid who writes shite for the shite rag that is HITC probably saw the twitter reaction to Wilders comments last night and has come up with another pile of shite clickbait article. Nothing to get worried about, packet of shite.

O'Rourke is ex sky sports and had a good record for being close to whats happening. There may be something in this.

If it’s £8m he’s gone. There is no way On earth we will turn that down.

Let’s hope it’s bollocks but I was worried when Eagan was signed this might happen.

I think I would take 8 mill to be honest. He’s good, but not amazing. Gives the ball away in dangerous areas sometimes

Should be looking at 12-13 million bare minimum.I think if there was any prospect of this happening, we'd have taken Baldock as part of the deal.

Regardless of fee, would JOC be able to play Prem level as part of a back 4 (assuming he gets a game!!)? He struggled at Brentford and regularly go found out for pace and positioning. He's obviously developed a lot with Utd but I'd still have my doubts tbc.

It would obviously be far more lucrative for him to move but he's a key part in Utd's team, his Mrs plays in Manchester and he's obviously settled and enjoying his football.

My gut feel is that he'll stay but it would cause CW a big headache should he push for a move at this stage and leave Utd very short at LCB.

God Help us!

Lafferty at LCB and Stevens LWB is far more likely....

We have already been assured by a certain poster on here that Wilder would select Eagan and Stearman in the same side. Perhaps this is what he meant?

.
In fairness, so did Harry Maguire, but I really hope you’re right in the here and now because I think O’Connel could be as good as H.

Can't see it since Wilder was only talking about turning bids down yesterday.

You never know with United though.

Hopefully Woodburn coming and the sort of 'intent' that gives us will help us keep our players this window.

To be honest, I'd be absolutely fine with selling him.

If we then brought in Liam Lindsay, Jay Dasilva, Luke Freeman, Sam Gallagher and Adam Armstrong.

Seeing the talk of Kean Bryan and that he was apparently costing Rangers £2.5m is worrying me. If he costs us that, he's not just going to be back up to someone who never misses a game like O'Connell.

He’ll be gone soon. I can’t remember the last time we managed to held on to a player once someone above us came in with a bid.

However, it is nice to see us actually negotiating for once, a welcome change from the “snap their arm off” approach usually adopted by our board.

Sadly, I don’t think the board shares our manager’s ambition for promotion. Which is a shame, given that (against the odds) he demonstrated last season that he can mix it at the top end of the division.

The money quoted is good and could improve us overall but as we are seeing with the Brooks money, it's not as easy saying "sell him for this, buy him for that"

If the City kid signs the first question Wilder needs to be asked about is whether this is due to O Connell leaving
